For information about the organization and course of the admission procedure of study programmes carried out STU is stated in internal regulation "Rules and Conditions for Admission to Study Programs of the First, Second and Third degree at STU."

STU has established a University-wide STU Counselling Centre for the purpose of supporting students in their studies, university and personal life. We provide free services to all STU students in the form of information, counselling, advice, support and therapy activities, with a particular emphasis on students with specific needs. We work to ensure that our activities are encouraging to all STU students.

The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava is a modern educational and scientific institution. Since its foundation in the year 1937, more than 180.000 students have graduated. In average, 11.000 students study at STU every year in all study degrees and forms of study at 7 faculties and Institute of Management, offering study in accredited study programs in bachelor, engineer/master and doctoral studies.

STU awards students and graduates motivational scholarships for outstanding performance of study obligations, achievement of outstanding results in the field of study, research, development, artistic or sporting activities and motivational scholarships in selected shortage fields of study (branch motivational scholarship), if the student meets the conditions specified in STU Scholarship Regulations.


In the year 2025/2026, an STU student studying a bachelor's degree programme in electrical and electronics engineering, computer science, cybernetics or mechanical engineering could receive a union incentive scholarship in the amount of €4,000, which is paid in monthly instalments of €400.

STU also awards exceptional scholarships to students and graduates from its own resources.

In 2025, talented domestic or foreign applicants could apply for the talent scholarship. The scholarship amount for domestic scholarship recipients is €4,000/academic year and €5,000/academic year for foreign scholarship recipients. The talent scholarship is awarded for three years during the first level of study or for two years during the second level of study.

 
In 2012 the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava obtained the ECTS Label. ECTS Label is a prestigious certificate that its credit system is compatible with European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) enabling two-way student mobility within EU universities and the wider European area. All of the study programmes provided by the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, all exams and credits that students receive are in line with European Credit System and thus recognized abroad. Obtaining the ECTS Label is a signal of quality for domestic and foreign students.

In 2013 the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava obtained a prestigious award DS Label, which means that the Diploma Supplement issued to all graduates of the University bilingually in Slovak-English language meets the standards set by the European Commission. It provides transparent information on educational attainment, its nature, content and context of national education systems (in particular, information about educational institution, field of study, duration of study, obtained credits and study results, etc.).

In research activities, STU successfully participates in EU programs.
