Conditions of admission

Basic condition:

The basic condition is a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education. Applicants who have completed their secondary education abroad must provide proof of equivalence in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Another condition for admission is successful completion of the entrance examination. The criterion for admission is the score obtained in the entrance examination, which will place the applicant among the planned number of admitted candidates.

Further information about the admission procedure:

- a separate application must be submitted for each study programme,

- an applicant may submit only one application for one study programme (for doctoral programmes either in the language of instruction Slovak or English),

- the entrance examination is held separately for each study programme, the result of the entrance exam cannot be accepted for another study programme,

- the applicant is obliged to pay the admission fee for each study programme to which he/she applies,

- the bank confirmation of the payment (in case of payment by internet banking, the confirmation of the payment made, not of the movement on the account) should be glued on the 3. In the case of an application for higher education for more than one study programme, the original certificate of a general practitioner on medical fitness for a regulated profession and medical fitness for a profession is required for only one application. In the second and subsequent application for studies, the applicant shall indicate which study programme the original certificate is an attachment to the application,

- the criterion for admission is the number of points obtained in the entrance examination.



The dean of the faculty has the right to accept another applicant in the order of the result of the entrance examination in the given study programme instead of the admitted applicant who answers the faculty's question in the negative or fails to answer by a certain deadline (§ 59 (3) of Act No. 131/2002 Coll.



Evaluation and publication of the results of the entrance examination:

The criterion for admission is the number of points obtained in the written test. The evaluation of the tests is done by scanner, without knowledge of the test writer. The results of the entrance examination will be published on the faculty's website on the day of the examination, no later than the day after the examination, on the basis of the code assigned to the candidate at the entrance examination.

Conditions for international students

An applicant who has completed secondary school studies abroad (except for documents obtained in the Czech Republic) shall submit, in addition to the required attachments, the original decision or a certified copy of the decision on recognition of the education document issued to the applicant by the relevant district office, education department. This decision shall be presented by the applicant at the entrance examination.

General information on the admission exam

Applicants who send a duly completed application form by the deadline and meet the conditions for admission may take part in the admission procedure for study programmes studying in the Slovak language.



Form of entrance exam

The entrance examination will take the form of a written test in the subjects of chemistry and biology. The content of the individual subjects corresponds to the content of a complete secondary education.



Tests

The set of test questions for candidates consists of 200 questions - 100 questions from the subject of biology and 100 questions from the subject of chemistry. The time taken to complete the 200 questions is 150 minutes. The formulation of the questions and the four multiple-choice questions allow for the choice of the correct answer, where there may be multiple correct answers or none in a single question. The maximum number of marks that a candidate can obtain is 800.
