Applied Chemistry
Graduates of the Master's degree programme in Applied Chemistry have theoretical and practical knowledge of individual parts of modern chemistry, use modern laboratory technology and laboratory methodologies, are able to design and optimize new procedures, carry out syntheses of new compounds, solve structures of substances, use their knowledge in the management of chemical processes, are able to independently carry out work of a technical nature in chemical, environmental, pharmaceutical or medical facilities. Graduates have the theoretical knowledge and experimental skills that enable them to be employed in research and development institutions, whether they are academic departments, enterprises or companies.
Graduates of the study programme have the prerequisites:
to apply themselves in various chemical, environmental, pharmaceutical and medical, research and operational facilities, to participate in the solution of research and development tasks or to manage them, or to carry out more demanding work of a technical nature,
to apply themselves in the production sphere, as well as in the state and public administration, where they can use their knowledge of individual areas of chemistry, environmental chemistry, biochemistry and chemical informatics, e.g., e.g.
After completing the Master's degree, graduates of the study programme can continue their doctoral studies at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the UCM in Trnava, within the 3rd degree study programme Applied Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, or at other faculties with a similar focus. 50% of students continue their studies at the 3rd level in the field of Chemistry or in one of the related fields.

The basic condition for admission to the study programme of the second degree is the completion of the study programme of the first degree (according to Section 56 (2) of Act No.131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education and on Amendments and Additions to Certain Acts).
The admission to the chosen study programme takes into account the fact whether the applicant has completed a study programme at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the UCM in Trnava or at another university of related specialization.
The admission to the master's study programme evaluates the result of the bachelor's study. In the case of applicants from other faculties and completion of bachelor's studies in related fields, the composition of the courses taken in the first cycle of studies is also evaluated.
In the case of admission to the master's degree programme in applied biology, it is recommended that a student at the bachelor's level of studies should have completed the courses of molecular biology and microbiology.
In the case of completion of bachelor's studies in related fields, the Admissions Committee of the Faculty of Natural Sciences may require that an entrance examination be conducted.

Applicant, who will take the State Final Examination of the first cycle of higher education in the academic year 2025/2026 and who has not been issued with a diploma at the date of the admission procedure, shall provide a certificate of studies and a certified transcript of completed courses of study.
An applicant who is a graduate of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the UCM in Trnava shall submit uncertified copies of the diploma, diploma supplement and the certificate of the state examination.
An applicant who is a student of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the UCM in Trnava and who will take the state final examination of the first degree in the academic year 2025/2026, shall submit the documents of graduation (study department)

Conditions for international students
Admission conditions for foreign students are the same as for applicants from the Slovak Republic. The condition of admission of foreign applicants to the study programme conducted in Slovak language is the knowledge of Slovak language at the level enabling study in Slovak language. Foreign applicants prove their knowledge of the language with a Certificate of Slovak language proficiency at the B2 level.
An applicant who has completed his/her bachelor's studies abroad is obliged to apply for the equivalent of the documents according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Slovak Republic.
