Characteristics of the profile of a graduate of the 2nd degree in the field of study Teaching and Educational Sciences

The graduate of the 2nd degree of higher education in Teaching and Educational Sciences is qualified to be a teacher of subjects belonging to his/her specialization at the lower secondary and secondary education level or at the 2nd level of primary and secondary schools. He/she is familiar with the basic content of the disciplines of his/her specialisation, the principles of its structure, the methodology of the production of the content of the discipline and its broader cultural and social context. It can handle this content as a product of human (scientific) activity and, in this context, can project it for didactic purposes and aims. In addition to acquiring pedagogical competence (designing, implementing and reflecting on classroom teaching), he/she is able to participate in the development of methodological materials for teaching. He or she also has adequate knowledge of research and development methods in the didactics of his or her field of study.

The graduate will obtain a 2nd degree in the study programme of Rusyn language and literature with an orientation towards teaching. Graduates of the 2nd degree programme can work primarily as teachers of Rusyn language and literature, as professional employees in the field of Rusyn studies, in cultural and social organisations as cultural and advisory or methodological and professional employees (Rusyn Revival, Theatre A. Duchnovič, Museum of Rusyn Culture), in mass media (editors of the periodical Rusyn, InfoRusyn - Narodny novynky, Rusyn.FM, Rusyn broadcasting of Slovak Radio and Slovak Television) and in specialized state administration bodies as specialists on nationality issues with an accent on the Rusyn national minority.

The condition of admission to the 2nd degree is the completion of baccalaureate studies in the relevant study programme by a state examination.Master's degree applicants should be proficient in the language, both written and verbal, to the extent of the knowledge and skills indicated in the profile of the graduate of the Bachelor's degree programmes.

Note: For study programmes that can be studied in combination, the requirements and dates of admission examinations of the PU faculty or PU university-wide departments that provide the respective accredited programme apply.

If the number of applicants exceeds the expected number of admitted applicants, preference will be given to applicants with a better weighted grade point average.

General information about the admission procedure

a) only one programme of study per application;

b) applicants shall fill in the first 3 pages of the application form thoroughly, sign the application form and attach as part of the application form a signed CV and a certified copy of the documents of passing the state examination (diploma, certificate, supplement to the diploma) if they did not obtain it at the University of Prešov ;

c) before submitting an application for studies, the applicant with specific needs shall contact the university coordinator Mgr. Žolnová Jarmila, Ph.D., univer. doc.

(d) the basic information required to effect a cross-border transfer from abroad:
