Laboratory Testing Methods in Health Care
This study aims to prepare graduates for solving the most complex issues in laboratory medicine, which requires them to gain the comprehensive knowledge and needed skills in the basic medical subjects, the basics of pathology and pre-clinical disciplines, laboratory testing methods used in medicine, the basics of clinical disciplines, the basics of application of laboratory methods in medical-preventive activity, the basics of subjects needed for evaluation of results gained through laboratory and clinical methods, as well as computer technology.
Prospects of graduates
The graduate will be able to individually perform given tasks at departments of laboratory medicine (clinical biochemistry, haematology and transfusion medicine, microbiology, immunology, genetics, toxicology, pathological anatomy, clinical pharmacology, functional diagnostics) and as well as at related diagnostic departments (e.g. forensic laboratories...).
Graduates can find employment also in research and development, they master the methods of gaining the scientific and expert knowledge in their field of study, can work effectively as members of a research team, organize own education, keep in touch with development in their field and also apply the ethical principles to their practice. It is possible to perform in the field of study Health Sciences and study programme Laboratory Testing Methods in Health Care also doctoral study (PhD.).

Admission to the second degree of study in full-time form takes the form of a written test on laboratory methods principles in health care and the basics of principal subjects of laboratory medicine (histology, haematology, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology and genetics). Besides successful completing of the test, another condition of acceptance is finishing of the first degree of study in the study programme Laboratory Testing Methods in Health Care. At admissions is taken into consideration also the non-specific assessment: participation in the SVOČ (Students Scientific and Specialized Activity), in projects and competitions.

- curriculum vitae
- confirmation of the admissions fee payment
- medical certificate of eligibility for university studies
- certified photocopies of bachelor study evidences (diploma, state examination certificate, diploma supplement)
Applicants finishing their bachelor´s degree study in the school year 2019/2020 have to submit all of the evidence (certified) of completing their studies until July 10, 2020.
To the electronic application must be attached the signed printed form of application.
If the applicant doesn´t complete the missing parts of the application within the set deadline after being requested to do so, he/she is excluded from the admission procedure. The admission fee will not be refunded.
Conditions for international students
Applicants, who have completed secondary education at school abroad shall submit a certificate of education certified by a notary. The requirements for admitting students from foreign countries are the same as for students who are citizens of the Slovak Republic.

Prijatie na II. stupeň VŠ štúdia v dennej forme prebieha výberovým konaním na základe dosiahnutých výsledkov počas bakalárskeho štúdia a hodnotenia pri štátnej záverečnej skúške bakalárskeho štúdia, ukončenie I. stupňa VŠ štúdia študijného programu Laboratórne vyšetrovacie metódy v zdravotníctve. Pri prijímacom konaní sa zohľadňuje aj nešpecifické hodnotenie: účasť v ŠVOČ, v projektoch, na súťažiach.
