Mediamatics and Cultural heritage
Absolventi majú schopnosť nachádzať moderné a v prípade potreby aj vlastné riešenia problematiky z oblasti mediálnej a komunikačnej praxe. Sú schopní tvorivo aplikovať poznatky najmä v oblasti tvorby knižnično-informačných fondov, lokálnych a globálnych informačných zdrojov. Ovládajú prácu s IK technológiami, metódy a nástroje na tvorbu a budovanie informačných zdrojov, analýzu informačných potrieb, vyhľadávanie informácií, analýzu informačných zdrojov, sprostredkovanie informácií a poznatkov používateľom. Môžu sa uplatniť ako tvorcovia obsahov, alebo manažéri mediamatických informačných systémov, konzultanti v oblasti informačných systémov, tvorcovia kurzov pre e-learning, správcovia podnikových informačných a znalostných báz. Po absolvovaní štúdia môžu samostatne podnikať v oblasti masmédií, zabezpečovať informačný servis pre štátnu správu, tretí sektor alebo pracovať ako špecialisti pre tvorbu a prezentáciu informácií, ekonomiku a manažment mediamatických systémov.

Prospects of graduates
In the Master study program Mediamatics and cultural heritage may the graduate find employment as a content creator, or a manager of mediamatic information systems, consultant in the area if information systems, creator of courses for e-learning, administrator of company information and knowledge bases and in the area of library-information practice.

Additional information
charged part-time form of study - 750 €/academic year ( in case of admission is the payment of tuition for the entire academic year a requirement of registration for study).
Conditions for international students
Foreign applicants are admitted under the respective inter-governmental agreements or at own expenses. Applicants from the EU countries are studying under the same conditions as Slovak students. Applicants from the Czech republic may submit the study application form valid in the Czech republic. In case of applicants who do not actively speak Slovak or Czech language, a successful completion of language training at the ZU in Zilina is required.
Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
Graduates of the study program Mediamatics and cultural heritage, who completed their studies in the academic year 2009/2010 on FoS UZ with study average in the 1st level of study 1.5 (including final state exam) will be admitted without an entrance exam.
Note: To graduates of study programmes Mediamatics, or Documentation of Cultural heritage, who completed their studies in previous academic years, apply the same conditions of admission without the entrance exam.

The faculty does not require a confirmation of health ability for university study and will accept an application without a confirmation of health ability.
If a prospective applicant wants to participate in entrance exams of multiple study programmes of FoS UZ, it's required to submit individual application with attachments for each study program along with payment of the corresponding fee.
Required attachments of the study application:
resume
photocopies of annual certificates
notarized photocopy of high school leaving certificate
certificate of payment of the admission procedure fee
Note:
Even in the case of electronic application it's required to print out the application, sign it, add required attachments and subsequently send it by mail by the date of specified deadlines!
Non-complete study application, or study application sent after the specified deadline will not be accepted!
In case of non-participation or failure of the admission procedure the faculty does not return the admission procedure operating fee!

Proficiency test for testing capability of competing Master study program.
Other evaluating and comparing criteria will be:
participation and ranking in High school professional scientific activity, or other relevant successes and acknowledgements and after-school activities in the area of mediamatics and cultural heritage (max 10% out of the total number of points of the entrance exam).
