Public Health Care
Public health in the full-time form of study is single-discipline, organizationally divided into the first level of full-time higher education studies (6 semesters) - Bachelor (Bc.) and the second level of higher education studies (4 semesters) - Master (Mgr.) and the third level of higher education studies (6 semesters) - Doctoral (PhD.).
The curriculum is based on the vision of the development of public health as defined by international institutions (EU, World Health Organization, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, ASPHER), it is designed to be in line with the Lisbon process.
The curriculum is a set of courses consisting of educational activities, which are mainly lectures, seminars, exercises, final thesis, project work, internship, excursion, professional practice, state examination. The study plan is composed of compulsory, compulsory elective and elective courses so that the minimum number of credits obtained by fulfilling the specified conditions is in accordance with the Study Regulations of the Faculty of Health and Social Work of the University of Trnava.
In the bachelor's degree of full-time study, a compulsory part of the teaching is also the completion of professional practice of 240 hours in primary health care prevention facilities, public health offices, organizations providing occupational health services.
Prospects of graduates
A public health graduate should enter practice as a confident advocate for the independence of his or her profession and for modern trends in public health theory and practice. The graduate will find employment in the following organizations:
✓ all departments of regional public health offices (RÚVZ),
✓ in facilities outside the Department of Health in the field of health, environmental and occupational health,
✓ research institutes with a focus on: non-communicable mass diseases, environment and health, communicable diseases, working environment and health,
✓ in health clinics,
✓ in labour inspectorates,
✓ in state administration (departments of health, environment),
✓ in local government: on issues of protection and promotion of people's health, environmental influences on health, preventive programmes.

The basic condition for admission to the three-year bachelor's study programme in the full-time form of study (completed by obtaining the degree "Bc") is the acquisition of complete secondary education or complete secondary vocational education.

The admission condition for admission to B.Sc. B.Sc. studies is a high school diploma in the Slovak language.
Another admission condition to ensure that applicants with the necessary skills and aptitude are admitted to the course is a selection procedure.
Additional information
Applicants graduating in the school year 2024/2025 and earlier will send all necessary attachments with their application.
Applicants graduating in the school year 2025/2026 will submit all necessary attachments, except for the 4th grade report card and the high school diploma, which will be submitted by a deadline to be determined by the faculty and which will be communicated to the applicant in writing in a timely manner.
Conditions for international students
The conditions of admission of foreigners, foreign students or students who have completed their secondary school studies abroad are the same as the conditions of admission of students who have completed their secondary school studies in the Slovak Republic and are citizens of the Slovak Republic.

The selection procedure consists of:
1. An assessment of the results achieved during secondary school studies. The overall average from secondary school from 3.6 to 1.0 is expressed linearly in the following values: average 1.0.... 100 points to 3.6 ... (a) Average in profiling subjects (biology, physics, chemistry) For each profiling subject, possible grades are scored:1.....3 points, 2.....2 points, 3.....1 points. (maximum 9 points) 3. For each non-specific activity, the candidate will receive 2 points. b) SOT c) Certificate in a foreign language d) Other activity-sports e) Other activity-cultural
2. Age 18 years
3. medical fitness confirmed by a doctor
4. vaccination against Hepatitis "B" confirmed by a doctor - form here
5. results of the entrance exam will be published on the faculty's website,
6. candidates who demonstrate the highest level of aptitude for the study, i.e. achieve the highest number of points, will be admitted to the study
7. Candidates who have completed their secondary studies abroad

1.1. if there is a recognition clause for the country of the degree at https://uznavanie.minedu.sk/category/uznavacia-dolozka it should be printed out (it is no longer validated or verified) and together with the clause, it should be submitted:
a) a notarized copy of the educational document from abroad, bound with an official translation into SJ
b) a notarised copy of the supplement to the diploma from abroad (transcript of courses taken), bound with an official translation into SJ
c) a notarised certificate of academic results for the last 4 years, bound with an official SJ translation
1.2. in the event that https://uznavanie.minedu.sk/category/uznavacia-dolozka does not have a degree recognition clause for the country in question, the following must be provided:
a) a degree recognition decision - issued by the Regional Office of School Administration (RÚŠS)
b) a notarised copy of the supplement to the diploma from abroad (transcript of courses taken) bound with an official translation into SJ
c) a notarised certificate of academic results for the last 4 years, bound with an official SJ translation
8. Those applicants who have not passed the matriculation examination in Slovak or Czech must also pass a test in Slovak language - level B1, prepared by the faculty, as part of the admission procedure. Only applicants who achieve at least 60% success in the Slovak language test may be included in the selection procedure under point 1.
