Translation Studies
The program provides systematic education in translation studies in its broader interdisciplinary context, including general translation theory, the interpretation of specialized and literary texts, and literary-studies methodology. Emphasis is placed on working with data in translation studies research, on familiarity with machine translation and computer-assisted translation systems, and on the critical reflection of current trends in translation technologies. The curriculum also includes the development of analytical and interpretative approaches to written and spoken texts, as well as the cultivation of professional communication in both the native and foreign languages.
The program fosters independent, analytical, and creative thinking and prepares students to address complex research tasks in both synchronic and diachronic translation studies research. Emphasis is placed on individual and team-based research work, on the reflection of ethical and socio-cultural aspects of scholarly inquiry, and on the applicability of research outcomes in both domestic and international academic and cultural contexts.
More detailed information about the study program is available at the web https://fphil.uniba.sk/en/study/study-programmes/doctoral-studies/translation-studies-x/.

- university teacher (assistant professor, lecturer in translation and interpreting at universities in Slovakia and abroad),
- independent creative professional in the field of publishing and editorial practice (publishing houses, editorial offices, media),
- project manager and editor (translation agencies, European institutions).
