Systematic Philosophy

The study program focuses on developing advanced specialization in the disciplines of systematic philosophy and on deepening theoretical, methodological, and historical-philosophical knowledge relevant to the professional preparation of a philosopher or theorist in the humanities. The program fosters the ability to critically analyze and creatively address complex philosophical problems through interdisciplinary approaches. Students acquire interpretative and argumentative methods, skills in working with sources, and principles of scholarly communication, as well as techniques for formulating and defending philosophical conclusions within academic discourse. Individual specialization is balanced by a shared core of compulsory courses, enabling the development of original thinking within systematic philosophy and its wider conceptual contexts.
More detailed information about the study program is available at the web https://fphil.uniba.sk/en/study/study-programmes/doctoral-studies/systematic-philosophy-x/.
The study program is conceived primarily as preparation for researchers in the field of humanities-oriented scholarship. The graduate is also equipped to design research projects in the humanities and to undertake teaching responsibilities in the relevant discipline. Based on the acquired knowledge and competencies, the graduate is qualified to work in domestic and international contexts, particularly in professions such as:
- researcher in the academic sphere (research staff at universities or the Slovak Academy of Sciences) or in specialized academic institutions (e.g., libraries),
