Slavic Studies
Upon completion of the program, students are proficient in scientific methods of basic and applied research, are able to independently identify and interpret research problems, and can organize their own scholarly project activities in an innovative and original manner. They demonstrate highly specialized competences and a thorough knowledge of the principles and core foundations of a Slavic studies–oriented discipline in its interpretative and relational complexity, argumentative coherence, and explanatory value, including interdisciplinary research in broader Slavic and non-Slavic contexts.
The program fosters independent, critical, and analytical thinking, which students apply dynamically in the formulation and resolution of complex research tasks, with an emphasis on their societal relevance. Students master procedures of scholarly argumentation and debate, appropriately select and use forms and means of research metacommunication for publishing results in competitive environments, and present their work independently to the academic community and the wider cultural public in Slovakia as well as at relevant international forums.
