World Cultures and Religion
The graduate profile also includes the acquisition of new language skills corresponding to the relevant geographical or religious area, detailed and specialized knowledge of historical and cultural contexts, and the ability to reflect on the most recent findings in the field both empirically and theoretically. During their studies, graduates acquire the principles of scholarly work, the scientific formulation of research problems, and an understanding of the legal and ethical aspects of academic research, as well as skills in presenting research results. Graduates are able to present their research findings independently and at a high scholarly and communicative level to the academic community in the Slovak Republic and abroad. They are capable of defining the focus of research, coordinating a team within the relevant discipline, and preparing and implementing international research projects.

Graduates are capable of performing scholarly research work as research professionals in scientific institutions (academies of sciences) and in memory institutions (research activities in museums, libraries, and archives). They may also find employment in public administration, local self-government, or as university teachers. Graduates possess the necessary skills and preparation for work in the media, educational and outreach activities, and non-governmental organizations. They may also work in public-sector positions where knowledge of foreign cultures and religions is required, such as in security and diplomatic services, foreign trade, or cultural missions. Graduates are further qualified to work in areas related to state–church relations, as well as in specialized fields of research and management that require specific expertise in foreign cultures and religions.

Admission requirements:
- completed second-cycle (Master’s) university education,
- successful completion of the entrance examination.
Applicants apply for one of the listed dissertation topics.
Information regarding the admission procedure, including the planned number of admitted applicants and dissertation topics for the upcoming academic year, is published on the Faculty’s website at least two months before the final deadline for submitting PhD applications.

Form of entrance exam
A dissertation project focused on the selected topic is a mandatory attachment to the application.
The entrance examination is conducted in the form of an interview.
