Graduates of the Bachelor's degree programme in Chemistry have adequate theoretical and practical knowledge of general, inorganic, organic, physical, analytical, medical chemistry and biochemistry, as well as of mathematics, physics, biology and computing, they are familiar with laboratory techniques and basic laboratory methodologies, and they are familiar with the chemical aspects of phenomena that are the subject of study in other natural, environmental, medical and technological sciences. They are able to carry out technical work independently in chemical, environmental, pharmaceutical or medical facilities. Students are able to acquire, process and present scientific information, are able to adapt quickly and effectively to the specific requirements of practice, organise their further education and personal development.
Graduates of the study programme have the prerequisites:
to apply themselves in various chemical, pharmaceutical, medical, environmental research and operational facilities and to perform more demanding work of a technical nature, or to participate in the solution of scientific research tasks as members of a team,
in the production sphere, as well as in state and public administration to use their knowledge of chemical informatics, e.g. in monitoring the natural environment, processing and use of databases, etc.,
to pursue a 2nd degree in Chemistry or a related field.

The basic condition for admission to the bachelor's programme is the acquisition of a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education (§ 56 (1)). 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education and on Amendments and Additions to Certain Acts).
The admission procedure takes place without an entrance examination.
For the admission of an applicant to the Bachelor's study programme, the data on the course of studies at secondary school will be decisive.
In determining the score, the following is taken into account at the same time:
- the study average at secondary school without the matriculation examination,
- the result of the matriculation examination.
Students who have completed their studies at foreign universities, foreign students, shall submit nostrified documents on completed studies in accordance with Act No. 422/2015 Coll. on the Recognition of Documents on Education and on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications and on Amendments and Supplements to Certain Acts.

An applicant who graduates in the school year 2025/2026 shall list the grades from the end-of-year report cards for grades 1-3 on the application form (in the case of a five-year course of study, he/she shall list the grades for grades 2-2 and 3).-4th year), which he/she has the secondary school confirm in the application form, or he/she submits the officially certified (by the registry office/notary) diplomas in the application form.
The 4th year (5th year) diploma and the matriculation diploma officially certified (by the registry office/notary) shall be delivered to the applicant no later than by 14.12.2015.
The applicant who graduated before the school year 2025/2026 writes down the grades from the end-of-year certificates for 1st-4th year (in case of five-year studies, he/she writes down the grades for 2nd-5th year) and the graduation certificate in the application form.

Conditions for international students
Admission conditions for foreign students are the same as for applicants from the Slovak Republic. The condition of admission of foreign applicants to the study programme conducted in Slovak language is the knowledge of Slovak language at the level enabling study in Slovak language. Foreign applicants prove their knowledge of the language with a Certificate of Slovak language proficiency at the B2 level.
An applicant who is graduating or has graduated from a secondary school abroad is obliged to apply for the equivalent of the documents according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Slovak Republic.
