Social work
The graduate of the bachelor's degree programme in social work should be able to perform the following professional activities: identify, correct and solve social problems; mediate and coordinate the cooperation of all stakeholders in solving social problems; carry out activities in the field of prevention, emergence and recurrence of social problems; instigate effective changes in the field of social policy at the institutional, local, regional and national level. Social worker - a graduate of the bachelor's study knows the basics of the theory and practice of social work, has knowledge of the roles of state administration, local government bodies and non-state entities in the field of social policy. He/she is prepared for the performance of first contact social counselling, social prevention, social work of professional officers at the offices of labour, social affairs and family (assistance to clients in material and social distress), in social service institutions, etc.
Prospects of graduates

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
- obtaining a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education (§56, par. 1 of the Higher Education Act);
- Motivational interview with the applicant (the applicant presents to the admissions committee his/her ideas about studying at PF KU, as well as his/her expectations from studying at PF KU and commits himself/herself to respect the Catholic spirit of the university and the faculty);
- for the teaching study programmes in art education, music education, musical arts and physical education, successful completion of the talent test is required (see the talent test section);
- other study programmes - without talent test.
The ranking of applicants will be based on the following rules:
1. Motivational interview with the candidate for study (50% of the total evaluation), results in high school (50% of the total evaluation).
2. In the case of talent exams, the evaluation is calculated as follows:
30% for the results at high school, 30% for the motivational interview and 40% for the talent exam.
The average value of the marks in the subjects of the final exam is calculated for the study candidate. This value is multiplied by the coefficient of the secondary school from which the applicant has graduated:
coefficient 1 for grammar school,
coefficient 2 for vocational secondary school,
coefficient 3 for vocational secondary school with matriculation.
The resulting value determines the applicant's position in the order of success in the admissions procedure.
If a greater number of applicants meet the admission requirements for a given study programme, those applicants who have demonstrated the highest level of aptitude for the study according to the admission requirements will be admitted.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS:
If an applicant wishes to apply for more than one study programme, he/she must apply for each programme separately. The applicant should send the application form to the department (city) at which he/she wishes to study.
The following must be attached to the application form:
- curriculum vitae;
- a certified copy of the matriculation certificate;
- an applicant for a study programme in the following subjects: biology, geography, chemistry, computer science, mathematics or single-subject computer science, must also provide a certified copy of the secondary school certificate of the last year of study,
- proof of payment of the fee, which must be pasted on the 3rd page of the application form. Without proof of payment, the application will not be registered. The admission fee is non-refundable!;
- the applicant for the study programme of pre-school and elementary education and pre-school and elementary education of socially disadvantaged groups shall also submit a medical certificate on the ability to take physical education without limitations and a certificate from a professional employee - speech therapist that the applicant does not have impaired communication skills;
- the applicant for the study programme of physical education teacher shall also submit a medical certificate on medical fitness;
- applicants who require specific conditions for health reasons shall inform the faculty in writing when submitting their application;
- in the case of applicants who have obtained their secondary education abroad, a decision on the recognition of a foreign document of secondary school education for academic purposes and the transfer of grades to the Slovak grading scale - equivalence (more information on the website of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic: http://minedu.
Confirmation of application registration and information about the further process in the admission procedure will be sent to applicants in writing. In case of a small number of applicants for the study of teaching in one of the subject combinations, the faculty will propose applicants to study in other combinations.
