Graduates are also able to find jobs in design, research and development organizations with a focus on the focus on transport, in the automotive industry, car sales and service, technical and emission control stations, in transport departments of industrial companies, state and local government bodies, the traffic police and in schools providing secondary vocational and higher education. Conditions of admission

The basic condition for admission to master´s (engineering) degree study (the second-degree study programme) is the full completion of the first degree of university study (Higher Education Act, No. 131/2002 Coll., as amended). In the case of a foreign applicant or a student who completed his/her study abroad, he/she shall submit along with the application form (no later than the date of enrolment), a decision on the recognition of the certificate of completion of the first degree of higher education recognised by a relevant institution in the Slovak Republic, or he/she shall ask UNIZA for the recognition of the certificate of education.

Another condition for the applicant ‘s admission is the successful completion of a first-degree study program with such a structure completed subjects that guarantee eligibility to continue the master degree study of the study program for which the applicant reports. This education eligibility criterion of the applicant is assessed by the appointed admissions committee by the dean of FPEDAS UNIZA based on the structure and content of the completed subjects of the previous study. The education eligibility in the case of admission to study may be conditioned by enrolling in no more than two differential subjects on the basis of a recommendation of the guarantor of the study program to which the applicant is applying.

 

1. No entrance examination
For the study programmes Road Transport, Railway Transport, and Air Transport (specialization Air Transport, Aircraft Maintenance Technology). For the study programmes Forwarding and Logistics and Postal Engineering, applicants are admitted on the basis of the weighted average of the study results achieved in their previous undergraduate study (first degree of higher education).

For the study programme Electronic Business and Management, applicants who successfully completed their undergraduate study (first degree of higher education) and achieved a weighted average of grades up to 2.00 inclusive during their undergraduate study are admitted without an entrance examination.
Other applicants will take an entrance examination.

2. Entrance Exams
Applicants who are not admitted without an entrance examination to the study programme Electronic Business and Management will take a written test on the knowledge of the 1st degree of study of the study programme. The questions in the test are from the fields of economics (profile subjects of bachelor‘s studies), and a selected foreign language (English, German, Russian, French, and Spanish).

 



Additional information

Application forms are to be submitted for specific study programmes. If an applicant wants to participate in the admission procedure for more than one study programme at the Faculty of Operation and Economics of Transport and Communications, he/she needs to submit separate applications for each study programme and pay a fee for each application.
If the applicant wants to take part in entrance examination at several faculties of UNIZA, the application forms must be submitted separately to each faculty and the respective admission procedure fees paid separately to each faculty.
Applicants fill in the application form - Prihláška na vysokoškolské štúdium - 2. Stupeň or they can also use an electronic application form. The electronic application can be filled in via the UNIZA website: https://vzdelavanie.uniza.sk/prijimacky/index.php or on the Portal VS (University Portal): https://prihlaskavs.sk/sk/.
In case of the incomplete application form, applicants will be requested to complete it.
In case of non-participation in the admission procedure or a failure in the admission procedure, the faculty does not refund the admission procedure fee.
Attachments to the master´s (engineering) degree application form:
1. curriculum vitae,
2. proof of payment of the admission fee.
Electronic attachments can also be sent with the electronic application form.

With payment of the admission fee from the EU member states, the EES countries, territories that are considered a part of the EU (Treaty of Rome, Section 299) and SEPA countries, it is necessary to use BIC: SPSRSKBAXXX, IBAN: SK81 8180 0000 0070 0026 9888.
Tuition fees – in accordance with the Higher Education Act, information about the amount of tuition fee for the relevant academic year will be published on the website of the University of Žilina within the stipulated deadlines.



Conditions for international students

The basic and other terms and conditions of admission are applicable for applicants from abroad as well as for applicants from Slovakia. Foreign students who study in a foreign language (i.e., not Slovak) pay the tuition fee as stated in Section 92 (8) of the Higher Education Act, as amended. The tuition fee is specified by the UNIZA directive and published for the respective academic year on the university ‘s website. Foreign students who study in the Slovak language do not have to pay the tuition fee. Applicants who do not actively speak Slovak or Czech are required to successfully complete language training (it is possible to attend the Slovak language courses at UNIZA). For foreign applicants who were accepted on the basis of intergovernmental agreements, bilateral agreements, or Slovak government grants, the terms and conditions stated in the respective documents are applicable.
