Missionary and Charity Work
The aim of the study is to prepare workers for missionary and charitable work, who are mainly applied in the Slovak Republic in charitable, humanitarian institutions of the Church, the state, communities and communities, parishes, state administration, towns and municipalities. Also abroad, in institutions similar to those in the Slovak Republic, in post-socialist countries, in the poorest countries and regions of the world, but also in the rich Western world, for groups of the lonely and those who need the help of others.
Prospects of graduates
The main focus of application of graduates of this field is in the implementation of social, missionary and charitable work directly in the field, at the level of state and local government in children's homes, social service homes, prisons, re-education homes, asylum and crisis centres, health care institutions - hospitals, sanatoriums, LDCH, hospices, as well as in non-state entities, which are various civil associations, foundations, international organisations (UNICEF, UNHCR, IOM, IRC, etc.)
Absolvent will be applied especially in the field of field and charity work. He/she will be able to provide assistance to clients in material need, after serving a prison sentence, members of ethnic minorities, clients in loss of employment and the elderly, to promote and protect the rights of the needy in missions in the third world, to carry out activities related to the planning, provision and control of the forms of assistance provided as a manager of social services in management and control institutions and to participate in the development of social policy and social legislation.

Applicants who will take the state examination after the deadline for the submission of applications shall provide the diploma (certified copy) and the certificate of state examination (certified copy) additionally (§ 58 (1) of Act No. 455/2012 Coll., Art.455/2012 Coll., Art. amending Act no. 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education as amended) before the enrolment deadline, so that a decision on admission to the study can be sent.
Without submitting a certified copy of the diploma and a certified copy of the certificate of the state examination, the applicant will not be enrolled in the study (§ 59 (3) of Act No. 455/2012 Coll., as amended), the applicant will not be admitted to the study. amending Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on higher education as amended). - proof of passed examinations and credits for bachelor's studies (not valid for graduates of VŠZaSP St. Elizabeth)
- student applicants who have studied at a foreign university - Decision on recognition of the equivalence of the document on education (photocopy of the decision must be officially certified) and at the same time provide an uncertified copy of the foreign document on education,
- Curriculum Vitae (signed)
- certificate of medical fitness to practise - from a doctor (for medical disciplines only)
- the applicant for the external form of study shall provide details of employment on page 2 of the application form
- proof of payment by deposit into an account
General information about the admission procedure:
- the college reserves the right not to open the first year of a programme of study for which insufficient applicants have applied
- an applicant who has paid the admissions fee, has been sent an admission decision and does not enrol will not be refunded
- the fee will also not be refunded to applicants not admitted on the basis of an incomplete application
- the registered application form with documents remains on file and in the archives of the college - it is not returned
Specific conditions of admission:
The condition of admission and also the entrance examination to the Master's degree for students of the Department of Missiology is the successful completion of the state undergraduate examination. If a student of the Department of Missiology receives one or more grades of "E" on the undergraduate state examination (in the state course or in the undergraduate thesis defense), he/she will not be able to enter directly into the master's degree, but must pass the admission interview.
Bachelor's or Master's degree graduates in related fields are admitted to the Master's degree after completing a one-year preparatory course, the content of which is specific knowledge in the field of missionary and charitable work, which is a prerequisite for admission to the Master's degree in the M.A. program in Missionary and Charitable Work. Taking into account the content of the candidate's undergraduate studies, this preparatory course may be shortened.
