The graduate has a deep knowledge of the mathematical apparatus and principles required to design and perform numerical and physical simulations of metallurgical and foundry processes. He/she has a high level knowledge of mathematical modelling tools and logical principles of processes. He is able to independently solve problems of science and research as well as other very demanding tasks of practice. Can establish scientific hypotheses and propose solutions to problems that contribute to the development of the discipline and practice. He/she can present and defend his/her solutions to the professional community, conduct discussions in a foreign language, and can write and publish scientific papers, presenting his/her results in peer-reviewed journals at the national and international level.

Prospects of graduates

Graduates of the 3rd degree of the study programme Metallurgical Technologies and Digital Transformation of Industry have a deep knowledge and understanding of theories and concepts in the areas of metal production and casting, production and application of non-metallic materials, chemistry, physical metallurgy, high-temperature processes, thermal engineering, metallurgical energy, digitalization and computerization of industry, industrial data flow and environmental sustainability of industrial production. The graduate is well acquainted with current technical innovations in the field, which enables him/her to effectively participate in the design of research and development as well as in the development of professional practice. He/she has a detailed knowledge of methods and tools for process control and simulation, stationary and dynamic analysis of the processes under study, data analysis and data evaluation, assessment of thermal stresses, flow, dynamics and hydromechanical and thermodynamic systems, heat and mass transfer and the interaction of transfer phenomena with chemical reactions. It provides a detailed knowledge of the mathematical apparatus and principles necessary for the design and execution of numerical and physical simulations of metallurgical processes. The student is proficient in the means of mathematical modelling and logical principles of processes at a high level. The graduate is an excellent expert capable of independently solving problems of science and research, as well as very difficult tasks in practice. Establishes scientific hypotheses and assumptions of solutions that contribute to the development of the field and practice, and proposes scientific procedures to verify these hypotheses. He can present and defend his solutions to the professional community, lead discussions in a foreign language, and write and publish scientific papers, with results published in peer-reviewed journals nationally and internationally. He is able to contribute creatively to new solutions and has a high capacity for self-education, which enables him to be flexible in the labour market. He has good organisational skills and the ability to absorb new information and solve new technical problems. Practically uses, develops and applies computer-based approaches in solving technical problems, knows basic and specific experimentation methodologies and is able to independently carry out challenging experiments in the laboratory, while being able to process and evaluate the results at a high professional level. Conducts independent, original research that goes beyond the current frontiers of knowledge in the field and is publishable in peer-reviewed journals at an international level. Analyses results and makes proposals for solutions, optimisation and intensification of processes, solves high temperature processes using mathematical modelling, analyses the energy intensity of processes and makes proposals for solutions. Proposes, submits and provides solutions to projects.

Graduates of the 3rd degree of the study programme Metallurgical Technologies and Digital Transformation of Industry are able to autonomously plan and implement research and development in accordance with the requirements of society. He/she is able to communicate effectively about his/her area of expertise and achievements with experts from his/her own and other disciplines, as well as with the lay public. Independently presents research and development results to the professional community at home and abroad. Possesses the ability to critically evaluate constraints to analysis in the context of the field of study, taking into account both local and societal aspects. The graduate is able to produce original knowledge, thus making a significant contribution to the development of the field or area of professional practice. He or she has a detailed overview and extensive knowledge of the current state of knowledge in the field of his or her specialisation, an in-depth understanding of the phenomena and processes under study and their interactions with each other. Possesses the ability to think critically when formulating new, complex problems. He is ready to apply in the Slovak and international market as a top manager in the field of research, development and transfer of innovations, in management and quality control, as well as in the business sphere when establishing their own companies, in universities and in the state sector. He is also able to convey the acquired knowledge in an appropriate way in the educational process in the professional subjects of metallurgy, foundry, and metallic and non-metallic materials. The graduate achieves a high level of understanding of the project. Motivates people, organises the tasks to be solved and is responsible for the results achieved. Responsible for the professionalism of the work performed, evaluates the operations performed and their execution. Creates new procedures and methods for solving metallurgical, foundry and energy processes.
