Management
The study programme reflects the requirements set for a graduate of the second degree in the field of study Economics and Management. The graduate possesses extensive professional and methodological knowledge in several areas of the field of study at the assessment level, while thanks to his/her specialization, he/she is proficient in specific economic and managerial concepts, procedures and categories, as well as the connections between them, in the context of economic and managerial theory and practice. On the basis of the acquired knowledge and the acquired conceptual and categorical apparatus, the graduate is able to identify, propose and apply solutions and draw conclusions with respect to the object of study, acquired practical experience and current knowledge. The graduate is able to analyse problems at the macroeconomic and microeconomic level, propose and implement solutions and evaluate the impact of economic and managerial decisions. He/she has the skills and abilities to creatively apply the acquired knowledge and acquired thought processes, and has developed communication and analytical skills necessary for the performance of senior managerial and professional functions. He/she is able to understand new trends, identify their implications and, thanks to his/her conceptual thinking, contribute to the transfer of applicable knowledge into economic and managerial practice. The graduate demonstrates a high degree of independence in solving specific problems and projects. Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as an individual, team member or team leader. Can continuously monitor, critically sort and implement the latest knowledge, applying economic, social, legal and ethical principles. Has a proactive approach, can present and defend own ideas to a professional audience, including in a foreign language, critically evaluate specific situations and take responsibility for assigned tasks or projects.
The MSc in Management is designed to produce graduates primarily for practice, who are able to evaluate and manage management problems using sound theories, methods and practices, and who are committed to maintaining academic and professional integrity and making a positive contribution to society. The intent is to produce professional specialists who can pursue careers in a variety of management fields, who have a deep knowledge of management, but who also possess leadership skills and an innovative spirit. The curriculum has been designed to equip students with the knowledge, tools, techniques needed to work and manage organizations effectively in a complex changing environment. The content and structure of the recommended curriculum of the present study programme is based on the basic characteristics of a graduate of the management study programme in the field of Economics and Management. After completing the second cycle of studies, the graduate has a deep and comprehensive knowledge of management and its individual areas, and is familiar with specific economic and managerial concepts, procedures and categories, as well as the links and connections between them. At the same time, he/she has extensive professional and methodological knowledge of the different areas of management at the evaluation level and understands the broader context. The graduate is able to analyse and evaluate complex problems of enterprises and organisations relating to different areas of management and to respond flexibly to these problems. The student acquires a complete set of managerial competencies, in particular the ability to collect, sort and analyse information, solve and analyse problems independently, organise and plan work, make decisions, manage and lead people.

Conditions for admission to the 2nd cycle of studies (Master's degree):
The basic condition for admission to the master's degree programme is the completion of the first degree (bachelor's degree) completed by a state examination (the basic conditions for admission to the second degree study programme pursuant to Section 56(3) of Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on higher education and on amendment and supplementation of certain acts is a first-degree higher education or a second-degree higher education, while the sum of the number of credits obtained for the previous higher education studies, by which the higher education was obtained, and the number of credits required for the proper completion of the second-degree study programme for which the applicant is applying must be at least 300 credits).
Admission to the Master's programme shall take place without an entrance examination. All applicants who apply to study at FMEO PU are ranked in order of admission to the relevant study programme to which they have applied (the order is always only one for each given study programme). The admission ranking is created according to the weighted average for the whole period of bachelor studies according to the algorithm published on the faculty's website (https://www.unipo.sk/fakulta-manazmentu/informacie/uchadzaci/). Each applicant may be admitted according to his/her position in the order of admission within the capacity limits of the faculty.
Required Documents:
1) A proper and complete electronic application for admission submitted through MAIS (https://www.unipo.sk/cvtpu/hlavne-sekcie/MAIS/intro/). Naturally, a paper application on official letterhead with appropriate attachments, if any, is also accepted. Applicants for Master's studies at FMEO PU are always requested to fill in the information about the university where they have completed or will complete their first degree (Bachelor's degree).
2)Authenticated photocopy of the diploma and state examination certificate, which should be sent by post or delivered in person to the FMEO PU (in the first round by 1.7.2026
- A candidate who is not a graduate of the bachelor's degree studies at FMEO PU in Prešov, must send by post or personally deliver to FMEO PU an officially certified statement of study results indicating the weighted arithmetic (study) average for the entire period of bachelor's studies, including the grades from the state examination.
- Applicants, who have completed their first degree studies at a university outside the territory of the Slovak Republic (or the Czech Republic) are obliged to deliver:
- Decision on recognition of equivalence of educational documents (so-called nostrification), also officially certified. Nostrification must be requested from: (a) the relevant faculty in Slovakia that conducts study programmes in the same or related fields of study as those listed on the education document, or (b) the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport (if there is no higher education institution in the Slovak Republic that conducts study programmes in the same or related fields of study as those listed on the education document). - Officially translated and authenticated documents of achievement of the first degree of higher education: diploma, state examination certificate, statement of grades for individual subjects of study.
- Apostille - for documents of education issued in the states which are parties to the Convention of 5 October 1961 on the Abolition of the Requirement of Higher Authentication for Foreign Public Documents (the so-called Hague Convention).
- Legalisation/super-legalization - for educational documents issued in States which are not party to the Hague Convention.
3) Structured CV (if uploaded as attachments in the e-application form).
4) Proof of payment of admission fee (if uploaded as attachments in the e-application form).
In case the required documents are not submitted by the deadline of 01.07.2026, the application will be included in the 2nd round of admissions.
In the case of a graduate who has completed a study programme in a field of study other than Economics & Management (completed in the Slovak Republic) or in the case of graduates of any study programme in a field of study other than Economics & Management (completed abroad outside the Slovak Republic or also in the Slovak Republic), respectively. If the applicant has not graduated in a related study programme, he/she shall take a difference test from selected subjects of the state examination of bachelor studies held at the FMEO PU. Macroeconomics and Microeconomics - selected state, Management - selected state, Marketing - selected state.
The outlines will be posted on the faculty web site (https://www.unipo.sk/fakulta-manazmentu/informacie/uchadzaci/). On the basis of the grade in the differential test, each applicant will be given a position in the common ranking for admission to each given study programme (together with other applicants evaluated according to the average of the grades in the Bachelor's State Examination). Specific or non-standard cases will be considered separately by a committee set up for this purpose.
A candidate may take the language proficiency test and the differential test only once during the entire admission procedure for the academic year 2026/2027 (even in case of applications for several study programmes) and only on one of the following dates:
Dates and method of conducting the verification of language proficiency to study the study programme in English (physical presence/online) will be communicated to the applicants in due time to their e-mail address (given in the application form).
If an applicant is required to take both tests (Language Proficiency Test and Differentiation Test) under the admission requirements, he/she may take them on the same day.
Invitation to the language proficiency test and the differentials test together will be sent by the faculty to the applicant electronically to the applicant's e-mail address no later than 14 days before the date of the procedure.
Applications of applicants who do not attend the language proficiency test and the differential test within the specified deadlines will be included in the second round of the admission procedure.
Final Information:
The online application form (or paper application form) must be submitted completely filled in including attachments by the given deadline. Applicants are requested to include their own email address and telephone number in the application form. If the applicant fails to submit all the required documents related to admission to the study by 01.07.2026, his/her application for the study will be included in the 2nd round of the admission procedure. Applicants shall pay the administrative fee for the admission procedure only once for each application, by bank transfer or postal money order, and proof of payment of the fee must be submitted electronically with the online application form. In the event of a transfer of an application from Round 1 to Round 2, no fee shall be payable.
A decision on the results of the admission procedure will be made in writing within 30 days of verification that the conditions (including legislative conditions) for admission have been met.
Admission to the study is decided by the dean of the faculty on the proposal of the admission committee. The members of the admissions committee are appointed by the dean of the faculty.
A candidate who has received a decision of non-admission may submit an application for a review of this decision. The application shall be submitted to the Dean of the Faculty within eight days from the date of receipt of the non-admission decision.

in ENGLISH:
Master's study programme in English language at FMEO PU
The applicant completes the published application form in English "An application form for Master's study in English" (https://www.unipo.sk/en/faculty-of-management/study/admissionprocedure/).
In the case of an applicant who has completed first degree studies at a higher education institution outside the Slovak Republic, it is necessary to submit an officially certified and translated decision on the recognition of the equivalence of educational documents (so-called nostrification) (explained in more detail above).
The following are obliged to undergo verification of their linguistic competence to study the study programme in English:
- an applicant who has not completed a Bachelor's degree programme in English,
- an applicant, who does not prove the prescribed certificate of English language proficiency at the required language level of at least B2 - Intermediate (the level achieved must be proven by a diploma or certificate, e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, etc.).
Dates and method of implementation of the verification of language proficiency to study the study programme in English (physical presence/online) will be communicated to the applicants in due time to their e-mail address (indicated in the application form).
Special cases will be specifically considered by a committee set up for this purpose.
