Electrical Engineering
The study program (SP) Electrical Engineering is based on the study program Industrial Electrical Engineering, with changes in its name and the duration of study. The reason for submitting this proposal is the effort to increase the efficiency of studies and to strengthen the dynamic connection between science and practice.
A doctoral (third-degree) student in the Electrical Engineering study program acquires knowledge in selected specific areas of mathematics, applied informatics, physics, theoretical electrical engineering, theoretical power engineering, and electronics, in accordance with the focus of their dissertation topic. This knowledge is further complemented by specialized disciplines within areas such as power engineering, electronic systems and signal processing, applied electrical engineering, industrial electrical engineering, automotive electronics technologies, and multimedia communication technologies.
The student develops the ability to conduct scientific research and provide original solutions for both theory and professional practice, as well as the ability to analyze technical, economic, and environmental aspects of technical systems and processes within their specialization. Graduates are able to apply principles of independent creative and scientific work in electrical engineering, find solutions to problems while considering ethical and societal aspects, independently solve research problems, collaborate internationally, and utilize global professional literature.
Graduates are capable of leading scientific, development, or professional teams, monitoring the latest developments in their field, and forming expert and scientific opinions. Their employment opportunities lie in areas requiring independent creative and scientific work related to the design, development, management, operation, and maintenance of electrical machines, devices, and modern electrical and electromechanical systems.
They are also capable of working in the field of material structures and systems, as well as across a wide range of manufacturing technologies in electrical engineering. Furthermore, they can be employed in electronics, advanced signal processing methods, and complex measurement and testing systems for electronics.
The third-degree (doctoral) study program in Electrical Engineering shapes graduates into experts in the field, equipped with independent, critical, and analytical thinking, which they can apply in forming opinions and making decisions aimed at effective solutions that take into account technical, economic, environmental, and societal factors.
Graduates have broad employment opportunities both within the field and in interdisciplinary positions, including managerial roles, as well as scientific or academic positions at universities or research institutions.
