Informatics and Management

Informatics is playing an increasing role in the overall success of a business in the marketplace. The study programme informatics and management combines knowledge from both areas. Its advantage is the possibility of specialisation after the first year of study. Based on your preferences, you can choose to focus more on computer science or more on business management using modern information technology. Become a successful IT specialist, programmer, IT manager, mobile application developer, tester, project team leader, computer network administrator, information systems analyst, team leader, web application programmer or IT consultant with us.

Prospects of graduates

The graduates of the study programme will acquire the necessary knowledge of informatics, they will be able to participate in the programme implementation and operation of information systems in economic objects at all levels of management. They will acquire knowledge primarily in the field of informatics, but also to the necessary extent in the field of business management using modern information technologies, thus being able to flexibly adapt to the requirements of the labour market, or to independently run their own business in the field of informatics. This knowledge will enable them to apply themselves, for example, as a programmer capable of implementing information systems projects, a programmer of WWW applications for company intranets, or an IT consultant capable of working on solving IT problems in companies.

Conditions of admission

The basic condition for admission to the Bachelor's degree (first cycle study programme) is the acquisition of a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education (Act on Higher Education No. 131/2002 Coll., as amended). In the case of a foreign applicant or a student who has completed secondary education abroad, this is an education comparable to that completed by the matriculation examination in the Slovak Republic. An applicant who has obtained secondary education abroad shall submit a decision on the recognition of the document on the completion of secondary education by the relevant institution in the Slovak Republic with the application for university studies, or at the latest at the time of enrolment in the studies.

Additional information

An applicant for admission to more than one study programme shall indicate their preference by order on the application form and pay only one fee. In case of successful completion of the entrance examination, he/she will be admitted in order of preference to the study programme whose requirements he/she fulfils.

Conditions for international students

The same admission conditions apply to foreign applicants as to applicants from the Slovak Republic.

Foreign students studying in a language other than the state language pay tuition fees according to the conditions set out in Section 92(8) of the Higher Education Act. The tuition fee is set by a UNIZA directive and published for the respective academic year on the university's website. Foreign applicants (except applicants from the Czech Republic) who wish to study in the state language are required to pass a language test in Slovak language with a minimum B1* level. The language test is carried out on strictly defined dates published on the website of the Institute of Lifelong Learning of UNIZA (ILL) and its successful completion is a condition for admission to the study. If the applicant has already successfully passed a language test in the Slovak language conducted by the Institute of Lifelong Learning of UNIZA at the required level of at least B1, this language test will be recognised.

The Slovak language test must be passed no later than by the deadline of the admission procedure - 4.6.2026, while a foreign applicant may pass it only once in the calendar year of the admission procedure.

Foreign students studying in Slovak do not pay tuition fees. Applicants from the Czech Republic may use the form valid in the Czech Republic to apply for studies.

For foreign applicants admitted on the basis of interstate agreements, bilateral treaties or for scholarship holders of the Government of the Slovak Republic, the conditions specified in the relevant documents apply.
