Surveying and Real Estate Cadastre

The study programme educates specialists required for fulfilling tasks of the state and of the sectors of geodesy, cartography and cadastre, construction, and industry. Graduates obtain full first-cycle (Bachelor’s) higher education by completing courses forming the theoretical, professional, and technical–applied foundations of the study programme. The theoretical foundation is built through the study of natural sciences—mathematics, physics, and geology—followed by professionally oriented theoretical disciplines such as geodesy, mathematical geodesy, measurement processing and analysis, and physical geodesy, while the core of the programme focuses on mastering technical and applied disciplines including local geodetic networks, engineering geodesy, photogrammetry, geoinformatics, geographic information systems, topography, land consolidation, cadastral mapping, and the real estate cadastre. During the first cycle of study, students acquire fundamental knowledge in geodesy, cartography, and the real estate cadastre and further develop their basic theoretical knowledge in a creative manner; they are guided towards adaptability in solving tasks particularly in the construction of geodetic control networks, data collection for national mapping works, information systems and the real estate cadastre, as well as tasks related to spatial data processing. Students develop habits of professional independence and decisiveness based on a methodological approach while respecting correct and objective solutions; to support independent preparation and work, computing technology is used with CAD and GIS software, and professional training is complemented by a course in Forensic Expertise. Graduates find employment in all areas of the geodesy, cartography and cadastre sector, in public authorities, investor organisations, state administration bodies, as well as in the business sector, and are prepared to continue their studies at the second-cycle (Master’s) level in the study programme Engineering Geodesy and Real Estate Cadastre.
