Forensic and criminalistic environmental sciences

Units of the study program Forensic and Criminalistic Environmental Sciences result from the core of the study field and are primarily oriented to deal with the rising environmental crime, not only in the area of crime itself, but also in the area of environment violation. The study program prepares graduates for the master study degree in the same or related field of study. This study program fills the space that exists in the preparation of management and organizational staff with comprehensive and cross-sectional knowledge at the middle management, especially in the state and local government, as well as in organizations aimed at environment protection and in the design and production. The crucial aspect of the presented study program is a balanced overview of environmental problems basis, together with knowledge of forensic and investigative techniques at engineer-technical, biology-ecological and legal-economic levels.



Prospects of graduates

The graduate of the bachelor study degree of the Forensic and Criminalistic Environmental Sciences study program will be capable to apply basic theoretical knowledge, will know the safety of chemical and related technologies, the risks of working with chemicals, waste management, also will be able to summarize the environmental problems in order to assess technologies impact on the state of the environment. The graduate will be able to analyze the state of environment pollution and to identify the causes of such condition; he/she will be able to propose remediation technologies for air, water and soil, as well as to deal with the waste treatment and recycling and to assess the impact of harmful factors upon human health and the living and working environment. The graduate will have knowledge on the impact of ionizing radiation on living organisms and the environment, he/she will be able to provide with qualified information necessary for the investigation of crimes and violation in the field of environment; to solve simple projects in the field of nature conservation and environmental quality assessment; to deal with risk analysis and crisis and issues associated to criminalistics. Graduates of the presented study program will have adequate theoretical and practical knowledge of basic chemical, physical, biological and environmental disciplines, including forensic sciences. Graduates assert themselves in various fields of industry and in the public administration; they are able to implement new legislative regulations and standards in the full cycle of environment and working environment protection. They are also able to work independently, especially on analysis of environmental protection and risk assessment, to administrate basic professional tasks in the field of Civil Protection, Fire and Rescue Service, Nature Conservation, etc. Graduates can also assert themselves on posts of managers, developers, technologists, as well as legal experts on environmental impact assessment of production and human impact on the environment, including crime. At the same time they may also work in the laboratories or for the police or the Customs Criminal Office as experts in assessing criminal acts and violation in the field of nature conservation and the environment, etc.

Conditions of admission

Students are admitted to the study by meeting the basic requirements for admission to study in the meaning of §56, paragraph 1, Law No.131/2002 Coll. the universities, as amended, and based on the evaluation of secondary education. Application Deadline: March 31, in the 2017th



Conditions for international students

Science does not requirea medical certificate of fitness of our students. Forforeign students (nonEU), this confirmation is needed.

General information on the admission exam

Graduates who have completed secondary education in the admission procedure, submit original or certified copy of certificates IV. and III.y ear of secondary school and an original or certified copy of high school no later than 09/06/2017.

An administrative fee of € 40 is connected with organizing the admission procedure. In the case of interest in several academic programs, the administrative fee paid € 40 for each additional degree program. In this case, the application must be sent to each degree program separately.

Administrative fee paid to the candidates Bc. study by postal order or  bank transfer and confirmation of payment sent along with the application form. Otherwise, the application will not be accepted.
