Economics and Management in Wood Processing Companies
Graduates of the bachelor’s degree program in Economics and Business Management in the Wood Processing Industry possess a solid foundation in their field of study, with a focus on the practical application of economicmanagement skills in the woodworking industry. They are able to actively gather information and use it to solve practical problems in the field, while critically assessing its suitability and appropriateness. They are able to present their own views professionally and appropriately. Teamwork, the ability to coordinate specific tasks within a team, as well as the active use of information and communication technologies and communication in a foreign language, provide graduates with the potential to find employment in various types of manufacturing companies (primarily in the woodworking industry), as well as in commercial companies in both the private and public sectors, within the domestic economic environment and in EU countries.
Prospects of graduates
Graduates of the “Economics and Management of Wood-Processing Industry Enterprises” program are capable of holding leadership positions at the middle management level in the areas of business practice, in wood-processing enterprises, commercial firms, and public organizations. Graduates are qualified business managers capable of managing and overseeing business and economic operations regardless of a company’s size, ownership, or legal form. They are capable of solving problems not only in business and economic practice but also, in a broader context, of managing, making decisions, and proposing solutions that enable market economy entities to achieve their desired goals. The ability to communicate in a global language provides graduates with the foundation for success in an international market environment.

Admission to the Economics and Business Management in the Wood Processing Industry program is based solely on an evaluation of high school academic performance, without entrance exams,without the applicants’ presence.

- Applications must be submitted EXCLUSIVELY online at https://is.tuzvo.sk/prihlaska/
- Required attachments: - All information needed to submit your application can be found after creating an e-application in the university system (UIS); - Attachments must be uploaded electronically.
- Applicants who are taking their high school graduation exams in the school year in which they are applying for the program the grade point average and a transcript of grades from the end-of-year report cards for grades 1–3 of high school must be confirmed by the administration of the applicant’s high school on the e-application form,
- All applicants are required to upload scanned copies of their high school graduation certificate and their 4th-year report card to the university’s system immediately upon receipt—or to bring OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED COPIES on the day of enrollment,
- Applicants who graduated from high school last year or earlier must attach a scan of their high school graduation certificate and all high school transcripts (vocational schools, post-secondary studies) and must list in the application the grade point average for each year as shown on the end-of-year report cards for grades 1 through 4 (or grade 5 as well), 3
- A separate application for higher education must be submitted for each degree program and form of study,
- International students apply for and are admitted to study under the same conditions as applicants from Slovakia,
- Applicants are admitted to the program based on an evaluation of their high school academic performance (except for applicants to the Furniture and Interior Design program),
- Information about registered applications will be published on the Technical University’s website, in the UIS system under “Admissions Test Results” after entering the applicant’s birth number: http://is.tuzvo.sk/prijimacky/verejne_vysledky.pl,
- the faculty will send an invitation to applicants for the Art program,
- The number of admitted students is determined separately for each degree program,
- The results of the entrance exams and admissions selection processes will be published on the website after they have been evaluated at: http://is.tuzvo.sk/prijimacky/verejne_vysledky.pl or on the faculty’s website at https://df.tuzvo.sk/sk/vysledky-prijimacieho-konania.
