Workplace profile

The Institute of Mediamatics and Cultural Heritage builds on the work of the Department of Mediamatics and Cultural Heritage, which for many years was one of the most sought-after departments at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Žilina.

During its 15 years of operation, it educated hundreds of information specialists who now work in fields where information is regarded as a key commodity and well-managed information content is considered essential to success. Our graduates pursue careers as specialists and consultants, applying their expertise in mass media and emerging communication technologies across a wide range of professional settings, including libraries, information and cultural centers, advertising agencies, and the business sector. They draw on expertise in library and information science, new and traditional media, graphic design, photography, management, marketing, and cultural heritage in their professional practice.

Following the successful accreditation of all three levels of study, the Institute opens its doors to young people who wish to explore the latest trends in the world of information, who are unafraid to prove that they belong among the very best, and who understand that bringing the humanities and technology together is the way forward.
