Feed and Foodstuff Safety
Three-year study is aimed at mastering the chemical, biological, technological and economic relationships in the production and control of food and feed in the application of the principles and forms of the Common Agricultural Policy. Priority is given to the mastery of chemical and biochemical procedures for the analysis of the quality and wholesomeness of food and feed.
Prospects of graduates
The study programme in feed and food safety is aimed at mastering the chemical, biological, technological and economic relationships in the field of production and control of food and feed in the application of the principles and forms of the Common Agricultural Policy. Priority is given to the mastery of chemical and biochemical procedures for the analysis of the quality and wholesomeness of food and feed. The study will provide knowledge of computer science, statistics, biostatistics, economics, managerial ethics and business management - necessary for mastering the principles of price monitoring and intervention systems in food and feed marketing. Graduates of the bachelor's degree have the opportunity to pursue a follow-up master's degree programme in "Food Market and Quality".

Admission to study at UVLF in Košice is conditional on obtaining full secondary education or full secondary vocational education. The ranking of applicants is determined on the basis of the points awarded for the average of the final examination and points for active participation in secondary school Olympiads and SOČ in profile subjects (biology, chemistry) and for other activities which the student must provide written evidence of in the application form for studies.
Conditions for international students
Admission conditions are the same as for Slovak applicants.
Another condition for foreign applicants to study in Slovak language is knowledge of Slovak language at least at B1 level. Candidates must prove their knowledge of the language by a certificate confirming their proficiency at the above level, or complete a Slovak language course organised by a third party for the needs of the UVLF in Košice before starting their studies.
The Slovak language level is not required for applicants with a prior knowledge of the language.
Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
Admission to study at UVLF in Košice is conditional on obtaining full secondary education or full secondary vocational education. The order of applicants will be determined on the basis of the points awarded for the average of the matriculation examination and points for active participation in secondary school Olympiads and SOČ in profile subjects (biology, chemistry), work in organisations professionally close to the chosen study programme, which the student must submit in writing with the application form for studies.
