Teaching of History and Teaching of Philosophy and Civics
Alternatívny názov: Teaching of History and Teaching of Philosophy and Civics
Teaching of History
Graduates of the combined History Teaching study program (second cycle) acquire the pedagogical and professional qualifications necessary to teach history at all types and levels of primary and secondary schools, as well as at university departments and faculties specializing in the field. The education received enables graduates to either pursue third-cycle higher education (doctoral studies) or enter the professional workforce outside the school system. The curriculum is designed to allow graduates to find employment in non-teaching professions as well—for instance, as specialists in cultural and social institutions such as museums, art galleries, and libraries.
Teaching of Philosophy and Civics
Graduates are familiar with contemporary theoretical models of cognitive socialization and education, as well as the theoretical and practical aspects of the didactics of philosophy. They are able to independently design and conduct instruction in their subjects, formulate problems, work with scholarly and professional texts, engage in open and productive dialogue, utilize modern information technologies, and publicly present the results of their work. They possess the ability to competently foster critical thinking—and thereby the legal awareness and political culture of thought—among students. They are qualified to teach Social Studies and Civics at the upper secondary level, and Civic Education and Ethics at both lower and upper secondary levels. In addition to teaching competence (designing, implementing, and reflecting on classroom instruction), they are capable of participating in the development of methodological teaching materials.
