Mathematics of Data Analysis and Finance
Graduates of the Master's degree are experts capable of using modern methods of statistics, data processing and financial mathematics in practice. Since he/she has acquired basic theoretical knowledge of mathematics and statistics, he/she is able to supplement his/her education by self-study according to the needs and focus of his/her workplace. Each graduate is familiar with basic mathematical and statistical methods and the possibilities of their application in practice. They will also master the use of computer technology (with emphasis on statistical software R) and know the possibilities of software used in statistically oriented workplaces and in the field of finance and insurance. The graduate can evaluate the pros and cons of various mathematical methods and their application to problems in finance and insurance, and can present the results of the methods to a recipient of information without a mathematical background.
The best students have the opportunity to continue their doctoral studies in Mathematical Analysis, therefore, within the framework of elective courses and individual consultations, it is expected to acquire deeper theoretical knowledge in some specialization of mathematics.
Graduates find employment in the insurance and financial sector as data analysts, financial analysts or actuaries, in various sectors of the economy as statisticians and data analysts. They are also employed in scientific research departments and as university teachers of mathematics, statistics and related fields.
