General Medicine
The undergraduate study branch General Medicine provides general natural science education that is based on human and ethical principles. The education includes theory of anatomical structure of the organism and its physiological functions. On this basis is set the further education of essential principles of aetiology and pathogenesis of pathological state and ways of treatment. The study is a complex of education focused on diagnostics, differential diagnostics, therapy and prevention of diseases. During undergraduate education, a student of the Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University acquires sound
theoretical and practical knowledge, which enables him/her to think medically and to deepen his/her education in any specialization.
Prospects of graduates
Graduates can apply in all facilities of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic, in state and non-state health facilities, in other functions, e.g. as an expert advisor within insurance companies, a medical examiner, in management and organizational functions in the field of medical and pharmaceutical facilities, as well as in the field of pedagogy.
Graduates of the general medicine study program meet the conditions of the European Directive 2005/36/EC, which allows citizens of the European Union to practice the profession of doctor within all EU member states.

Basic condition: A basic condition for admission to study is obtaining a complete secondary education or complete secondary professional education.
Additional conditions: Obtaining an overall point evaluation from an entrance examination. The entrance examination consists of a biology test and a chemistry test. The applicant will be admitted to study if his point evaluation puts them among the maximum planned number of accepted applicants.

Application :
An applicant has to attach following documents to their application online :
1. A passport scan (the page with a photograph and personal information).
2. A scan of the Secondary Education Diploma/Certificate
If you do not have the diploma/certificate yet, you can provide us with an official letter from your high school stating your full name, surname, date of birth, the date of your graduation and date of receiving of your High School Diploma. We accept certificates and letters in Slovak, English and German language.
3. Proof of admission fee payment
When making the bank transfer, please ensure that you provide your full name as it appears in your application in the payee reference field, so that we can allocate the payment correctly.
The applicants will be admitted to the Entrance Exam (EE) ONLY after we register the Admission Fee amount on the Faculty´s bank account before the respective deadline for your chosen EE date.

Form of entrance exam
Entrance examination consists of one test (Biology, Chemistry).
The test is conducted online: March, June, August 2026 in English language
The test is conducted in person: August 2026 in English language
Tests
The test has 200 questions (100 Biology, 100 Chemistry). Each question has 4 options, but only one answer is correct. Each correct answer will be awarded with 1 point.
Test duration: 3 hours (180 minutes),
