A graduate of the educational field of language and communication can act as a teacher of the educational field of language
and communication and the relevant subjects, Slovak language and literature, English language and
German language, at the level of lower and upper secondary education, as a teacher of language
school and in accordance with the current decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Slovak Republic on the qualification prerequisites of pedagogical
and professional staff.

Conditions of admission

Conditions for admission to study for individual study programmes
EDUCATIONAL FIELD MAN AND SOCIETY
- obtaining a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education;
- commitment to respect the Catholic spirit of the University and the Faculty;
- proficiency in the Slovak language at a level of at least A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and Languages.
LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION EDUCATION
- complete secondary education or complete secondary vocational education;
- commitment to respect the Catholic spirit of the university and the faculty;
- demonstrate a level of proficiency in the Slovak language of at least B2 level of the Common
European Framework of Reference, if the applicant has received secondary education outside the Slovak
Republic and has not completed at least the first (Bachelor's) level of higher education
in one of the following study programmes: Teacher of Slovak language and literature
(single subject or combined), Slovak language and literature, Slovak language, Slovak studies, teacher
in the educational field of language and communication;
- successfully pass the entrance examination in the form of an oral interview, which can also take place
on-line. The interview is conducted in both Slovak and English and identifies knowledge,
personality and motivational prerequisites for study. The maximum number of points is 10. The minimum
number of points for passing the entrance exam is 6 (out of 10).



Additional information

Health disadvantaged applicants may request that the form and method of the entrance examination be determined taking into account their disadvantage (a written request is sent together with the application form).

General information on the admission exam

A candidate can submit:
Be an electronic application
- via e-prihlaska.ku.sk;
- such electronic application is not printed, signed, sent to the postal address of the faculty.
OR paper (not electronic) application
- such paper (not electronic) application on the form ŠEVT is sent to the following address:

If the applicant submits the application through the portal portalvs.The application form must also be sent
in paper form to the address of the faculty. In this case, the fee for the material security of the admission procedure is 40 €.

The application form must be accompanied by:
a) a confirmation of payment of the fee;
b) in the case of applicants for the study programme TEACHING IN THE EDUCATIONAL FIELD HUMAN
AND SOCIETY, who have not passed the matriculation examination in the Slovak language and at the same time
have not completed university studies of at least the first (bachelor's) degree in a study
programme carried out in the Slovak language and a certificate or confirmation of completion of
a course in the Slovak language (proving the level of proficiency in the Slovak language at least at the
level A2 according to the Common
European Framework of Reference for Languages and Languages). The certificate or confirmation should
be issued by a Slovak language school which is registered in the network of schools and educational
institutions of the Slovak Republic or by a university in the Slovak Republic which organises
or carries out language or vocational training for studies at the university;
c) in the case of applicants for the study programme TEACHER IN THE EDUCATIONAL FIELD OF LANGUAGE AND
COMMUNICATION who have obtained secondary education outside the Slovak Republic and at the same time have not completed
higher education studies of at least the first (bachelor's) degree in the study programmes
mentioned in the admission conditions above (e.g. A certified copy of a certificate attesting the level of proficiency in the Slovak language at least
at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
The following documents should be delivered to the Study Department (preferably at the time of application):
a) a certified copy of the matriculation certificate (in the case of applicants who have received secondary education in the Slovak Republic);
b) an official translation of the matriculation certificate (in the case of applicants who have received secondary education outside the Slovak Republic);
c) in the case of applicants who have obtained secondary education outside the Slovak Republic, also a decision on recognition of a
foreign document of education from secondary school for the purpose of studying in the Slovak Republic or a valid clause
on recognition of a degree of foreign education issued by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic
(https://uznavanie.minedu.sk/).
Information about the further process in the admission procedure will be sent to applicants by electronic or
paper mail.
Deadline for verification of fulfillment of the conditions of admission to study: by 10 June 2026.
A written decision on the result of the admission procedure will be sent to applicants no later than 30 days
after the verification of fulfillment of the conditions of admission to study. The written decision shall be delivered to the applicants
in their own hands.
