Information about the admission procedure:
If an applicant wishes to apply for more than one programme of study, he/she must apply for each programme separately.
The application form must be accompanied by:
- CV;
- a certified copy of your high school diploma;
- an applicant for a degree programme in Teacher Education with a combination of Biology, Geography, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics or Single Subject Computer Science, shall also submit a certified copy of his/her secondary school leaving certificate of the final year of studies,
- a certified copy of the final year of studies
- proof of payment of the fee, which should be pasted on page 3 of the application form. Without proof of payment, the application will not be registered. The admission fee is non-refundable! If, after being asked to complete the missing parts of the application form, the applicant fails to complete the required parts of the application form within the specified time limit, his/her application will be considered invalid.
- the applicant for the study programme Preschool and Elementary Pedagogy shall also submit a medical certificate on the ability to undergo physical education without limitations and a certificate from a professional employee - speech therapist, that the applicant does not have impaired communication skills;
- an applicant for the Physical Education Teacher Training Programme shall also submit a medical certificate of medical fitness to take physical education without restrictions;
- an applicant for the study programme Special Education and Education of the Mentally Disabled shall submit a confirmation from a speech therapy examination of correct pronunciation and the absence of any kind of impaired communication skills;

- Applicants who require specific conditions for medical reasons are advised to contact the KU Counselling Centre (poradna@ku.sk) in order to obtain qualified information about the demands and conditions of study well in advance of their application for undergraduate studies;
- in the case of applicants who have obtained their secondary education abroad, a decision on the recognition of a foreign document of secondary school education for academic purposes and the transfer of grades to the Slovak grading scale - equivalence (more information on the website of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic: https://www.minedu.sk in the section Recognition of documents)
– Pokiaľ zahraničný uchádzač[1] in the matriculation examination did not pass the examination from the Slovak language is obliged to demonstrate knowledge of the Slovak language min. A2 level by a certificate proving the level of proficiency in the Slovak language (hereinafter referred to as the "certificate") or a certificate of completion of a Slovak language course (hereinafter referred to as the "certificate"). The certificate or confirmation of the foreign student's language level in the Slovak language should be issued by a Slovak language school which is registered in the network of schools and educational establishments of the Slovak Republic or by a university in the Slovak Republic which organises or carries out language or vocational training for studies at the university. The candidate shall submit the matriculation certificate, certificate or confirmation to the PF KU by the date of receipt of the decision on admission to study, or as part of the application for study to the PF KU. If the applicant does not submit the matriculation certificate, certificate or confirmation by this date, he/she will undergo an admission procedure in the Slovak language and must achieve a minimum language proficiency level of A2 in the Slovak language in this examination. An applicant from abroad - a graduate of a university study programme in the Slovak language does not need to submit certificates on the level of proficiency in the Slovak language.
Confirmation of application registration and information about the further process in the admission procedure will be sent to applicants in writing. In case of a small number of applicants for the study of teaching in one of the subject combinations, the faculty will propose applicants to study in other combinations.

Motivational Interviewing for programs other than Special Education and Education of the Mentally Handicapped, Teacher of Music Education, Teacher of Musical Arts, Teacher of Art Education, and Teacher of Physical Education:
The aim is to examine the study motivation of the candidate, his/her interest in the chosen study programme, basic orientation in the field and personal prerequisites for successful completion of studies. The result of the motivational interview is part of the overall assessment of the applicant in the admission procedure.

Admission Procedure in Special Education and Education of the Mentally Handicapped:
is oriented to the general outlook of the applicant, seriousness and also depth of interest in the study of Special Education. During the admission interview, the applicant's level of content and formal communication with the committee members will also be monitored, with an emphasis on spoken language. In case the applicant has extracurricular activities in terms of volunteering, personal assistance and helping a person with a disability, he/she can submit the certificates/proofs to the committee for inspection.

- The Talent Examination in Music Education or Music Arts consists of a practical section, a test in music theory (music notation, major and minor scales, forming and determining intervals, forming and determining fifth chords - major, minor, augmented, diminished) and music history, intonation and aural analysis (repetition of played notes and melodic sections, determination of intervals and quintacords, rhythmic exercises) and an interview with the candidate. The Talent Examination in Art Education consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. Students demonstrate theoretical knowledge in the art history exam, which focuses on historical or contemporary issues in art. The practical exam consists of active creative work, which is realized from the surface art disciplines and from the spatial art disciplines. The student carries out the practical examination on a topic and in a technique that is announced at the time of the entrance examination. The practical examination includes a presentation of the candidate's portfolio in intermedia, design and craft, surface art disciplines and spatial art disciplines.
Physical Education Talent Test: A specific movement test of 3 x 3 minutes, with a one-minute break between each round. During each 3-minute round, the participant performs 26 individual repetitions of the English squat (burpees) at regular intervals according to a sound signal. Two areas are assessed:
- technique: accuracy and fluency of movement execution, including control of posture, coordination of each phase of the movement, and overall quality of execution.
- Sustainability: the ability to maintain movement quality and intensity throughout the test, with emphasis on fatigue resistance and consistency of performance across all three rounds.
Candidates will be ranked based on the following rules:
- A candidate will be allocated marks for his/her performance in the secondary school in the following manner: the average of the marks obtained by the candidate in the subjects of the matriculation examination will be calculated. The resulting value is multiplied by the coefficient of the secondary school from which the applicant graduated:
coefficient 1 for grammar school,
coefficient 2 for a vocational secondary school,
coefficient 3 for secondary vocational school with matriculation.
- In the case of study programmes where passing the talent test (music education teacher, music art teacher, art education teacher, physical education teacher), passing the entrance interview (special education and education of the mentally disabled) or motivational interview (other study programmes) is a condition, the ranking of applicants will be established after adding the points for the talent test or for the entrance interview or for the motivational interview.
The resulting value will determine the applicant's position in the merit ranking.
If a greater number of applicants meet the admission requirements for a given study programme, those applicants who have demonstrated the highest level of aptitude for study as per the admission requirements will be admitted.
