Characteristics

A graduate of the industrial engineering study program in the 3rd degree of university studies has comprehensive knowledge, skills, and competencies in the field of mechanical engineering and industrial engineering. When solving specific research tasks, respectively industrial practices can choose specific scientific methods of basic and applied research. Based on the knowledge base that the graduate possesses, he can create his own algorithmizing of the solution and propose his methodological procedures that lead to finding variants and detecting optimal solutions. The graduate can formulate new hypotheses and strategic directions for further research and development of the mechanical engineering study program in the industrial engineering study program. He can work as a leader and coordinate a team in solving specific tasks built on a scientific basis and linked to industrial practice. A graduate of the industrial engineering study program in the 3rd stage of university studies can apply the acquired knowledge, skills, and competencies at the highest levels of management within the organizational structure of industrial enterprises.

Learning Objectives

The industrial engineering study program in the 3rd degree is intended for applicants who are able to work independently in the field of design, modeling and simulation, increasing the efficiency and optimization of business processes and systems with an emphasis on Industry 4.0. Students increase their level of knowledge and improve the skills acquired in the 1st and 2nd degree of study in the field of software support focused on digitization, design, technical preparation of production, in the field of 3D technologies, in the field of modeling and simulation of production and logistics processes and systems, and in the field of ergonomics . They have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and software in the field of reverse engineering (3D scanning and 3D printing), process modeling and simulation, virtual and mixed reality, and the design and testing of digital twins. Students of the 3rd degree study participate in the scientific and research activities of the workplace, participate in publication activities and the processing of outputs from research activities, actively participate in scientific conferences and workshops. They have the possibility of professional training to increase their competence in the intentions of their scientific profiling. They are part of the educational process of students in the 1st and 2nd stage of university studies and are involved as consultants in the solution of bachelor and diploma theses. In collaboration with their scientific profile, they have the opportunity to work in specialized KPaDI laboratories (Testbed 4.0, and others) and in industrial practice enterprises with which the training workplace cooperates.
