Computer aided engineering production

Characteristics

A graduate of the study program Computer Support of Engineering Production has expanded knowledge of engineering production, conventional and progressive technologies as well as the knowledge needed to use new engineering materials. They understand the interconnectedness of management and production technology in the modern structure of industry and understand information links in production systems. They analyze bottlenecks and optimizes engineering technological processes with the application of computer-supported systems. The graduate has mastered PC technology and software applications in the field of CAD/CAM/CAPP/CAE/RP/RE, in production planning, modeling, simulation and optimization of technological processes. They are able to perform the profession of product designer, production technologist, simulation engineer, tool designer, CNC technology programmer, production coordinator, quality controller, service engineer. They can be employed in production companies with an engineering focus, in supply chains of industry as well as in companies with their own development of new products.

Aims of education

A graduate of the study program Computer Support of Engineering Production will acquire knowledge and skills in the field of CAx technologies and their implementation for the preparation and implementation of engineering production. The graduate has mastered CAD/CAM/CAPP/CAE/RP/RE systems and are able to become a full-fledged member of the concurrent engineering system.  The graduate is able to apply computer support methods and techniques in production technologies, analyze, optimize and solve problems associated with production technologies in mechanical engineering and carry out research and development with a high degree of creativity and independence. They are able to systematically and comprehensively solve technological, material, structural and organizational tasks in modern engineering production.

Prospects of graduates

Learning Outcomes

A graduate of the study program Computer support of engineering production can solve more complex problems related to the design, planning and operation of production-technological systems. They have the necessary skills to apply CAD/CAM/CAE computer support systems in design, technology and production. They are also able to control software applications in modeling, simulation and optimization of technological processes. They have sufficient knowledge for a deeper analysis of problems and their subsequent specification for the relevant participating profession. When designing and optimizing processes, they use the acquired knowledge and skills from methods and techniques of computer support for production. They are able to make more advanced design proposals, proposals for technological production procedures, programs for CNC technology, simulation analyses. They can independently create structural and technological documentation by applying software tools. The graduate has the ability to present their own proposals and justify their solutions to a professional audience. They are able to work effectively independently and also as a member of a team.
