ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
-
Acquisition of a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education (§56, par. 1 of the Higher Education Act);
-
respect for the Catholic spirit of the university and the faculty;
-
for teacher study programmes in art education, music education and musical arts, successful completion of the talent examination is required (see section talent examinations);
-
in the case of teacher study programmes in which one teaching subject is provided by the Faculty of Arts of the KU, fulfill the admission conditions required for this subject (the conditions are published on ff.ku.sk).

For the study programme Special Education and Education of the Mentally Handicapped it is necessary to successfully pass the admission interview (see section Admission interviews);
-
Other study programmes - without an admission exam and without a talent exam.
The ranking of applicants is formed on the basis of the following rules:

The average value of the grades from the subjects of the final examination is calculated for the applicant for study. This value shall be multiplied by the coefficient of the secondary school from which the applicant has graduated:
coefficient 1 for grammar school,
coefficient 2 for vocational secondary school,
coefficient 3 for vocational secondary school with matriculation.

In the case of study programmes where passing the talent test is a condition (music education teacher, music art teacher, art education teacher), passing the admission interview (special education and education of the mentally disabled), the ranking of applicants will be made after adding the points for the talent test or the admission interview.
The resulting value determines the applicant's position in the ranking.
If a greater number of applicants meet the admission requirements for a given study programme, those applicants who have demonstrated the highest level of aptitude for the study according to the admission requirements will be admitted.

Admission Interviews:
Admission in Special Education and Education of the Mentally Handicapped oriented to the general outlook of the candidate, seriousness and also depth of interest in the study of Special Education. During the admission interview, the applicant's level of content and formal communication with the committee members will also be monitored, with emphasis on the spoken language. If the applicant has extracurricular activities in terms of volunteering, personal assistance and helping a person with a disability, he/she may present the certificates/proofs to the committee for inspection.

The Music Education or Music Arts Talent Exam consists of a practical section and an interview with the candidate. The skills and knowledge required are at least at the level of a graduate of a primary school.
Talent examination for applicants to the School of Musical Arts (DOUBLE DEGREE) consists of three individually assessed individual performances (organ/piano: singing, intonation and rhythm, performance in the chosen specialisation; solo singing: intonation and rhythm, performance in solo singing, playing the piano or another musical instrument), supplemented by an examination in music education in the form of a written test.

The talent exam in art education consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. Theoretical knowledge is demonstrated by students in the art history exam, which focuses on historical or contemporary issues in the visual arts. The practical exam consists of active creative work, which is realized from the surface art disciplines and from the spatial art disciplines. The student carries out the practical examination on a topic and in a technique that is announced at the time of the entrance examination. The practical examination includes a presentation of the candidate's portfolio in intermedia, design and craft, surface art disciplines and spatial art disciplines.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS:
If an applicant wishes to apply for more than one study programme, he/she must apply for each programme separately.
The application form must be accompanied by:

a curriculum vitae;

a certified copy of the matriculation certificate;

an applicant for the study programme of teaching in the combination of: biology, geography, chemistry, computer science, mathematics or computer science single-subject, shall also provide a certified copy of the secondary school certificate of the last year of study,

proof of payment of the fee. Without proof of payment, the application will not be registered. The admission fee is non-refundable!;

applicants for the study programme Physical Education Teacher shall also submit a medical certificate of medical fitness to take physical education without limitations;

applicants for the study programme Special Education and Education of the Mentally Handicapped shall submit a confirmation from a speech therapy examination that the pronunciation is correct and that there is no impairment of any kind of communication skills;

In case of a small number of applicants for the study of teaching in one of the subject combinations, the faculty will propose applicants to study in other combinations.
