Nursing
Higher education of the second degree in the master's study programme in the field of study Nursing lasts in full-time form for two years - full-time and combined method. The composition of all courses is processed in accordance with the Act 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education and on Amendments and Supplements to Certain Acts. It includes compulsory, elective and optional subjects that contribute to the achievement of the desired learning outcomes and bring credits. The student must achieve 120 credits (within the meaning of Decree No. 614/2020 Coll. 61420/2020 on the credit system of studies and Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education and on Amendments and Supplements to Certain Acts). The study provides adequate knowledge of the scientific disciplines on which general nursing is based, as well as of modern methods used in nursing, such as tele-nursing or EBN, nursing management, nursing care management, quality management, safe healthcare management, and management ethics in the profession.
Prospects of graduates
Nursing graduates will be employed in the protection, promotion and maintenance of public health at all levels of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention. Graduates are able to provide and manage nursing care to individuals, families and the community from the prenatal period of a person until death. Consistent with professional preparation, graduates possess knowledge, skills and competencies in nursing as a discipline, actively applying the interaction between nursing theories and scientific knowledge (Evidence Based Nursing) and nursing research. Graduates apply managerial and pedagogical competencies in clinical practice in accordance with the latest scientific and professional knowledge of nursing science.

The basic condition for admission to the two-year Master's degree programme in the full-time form of study (completed by obtaining the degree "Mgr") is the completion of the first cycle of university studies of the study programme Nursing. Applicants who have completed the first cycle of higher education abroad must submit a decision on the equivalence of the education achieved in the Nursing study programme. Another condition of admission in order to ensure that applicants with the necessary abilities and prerequisites are admitted to the study is the admission procedure.
The applicant must submit:
1. the applicant is required to submit a certificate of medical fitness in accordance with the criteria required for health fields, medical fitness for study certified by a doctor - forms here
2. vaccination against Hepatitis "B" confirmed by a doctor,
3. The results of the entrance examination will be published on the faculty's website,
4. applicants who demonstrate the highest level of aptitude for the study, i.e. achieve the highest number of points,
5. 5. An applicant who has completed university studies abroad
1.1. in the case of https://uznavanie.minedu.en/category/recognition-clause there is a degree recognition clause for the given country - it is necessary to print it out (it is no longer confirmed or verified) and at the same time to submit it together with the clause:
a) a notarized copy of the educational document from abroad (bachelor's diploma) bound with an official translation into SJ
b) a notarized copy of the supplement to the bachelor's diploma from abroad (transcript of completed courses ) bound with an official translation into SJ
1.2. in the event that https://uznavanie.minedu.sk/category/uznavacia-dolozka does not have a clause on recognition of the degree for a given country, it is necessary to provide the following documents:
a) a decision on recognition in the relevant field of study, issued by the higher education institution in the Slovak Republic that conducts the study programme
6. those applicants who have not passed the matriculation examination from Slovak or Czech language must also pass a test from Slovak language - level B1, which will be prepared by the faculty, as part of the admission procedure.

Additional information
Applicants who have completed their undergraduate studies in the academic year 2024/2025 and earlier will send all necessary attachments with their application . Applicants who will complete their bachelor's degree in the academic year 2025/2026 will submit all necessary attachments except for the documents of completion of bachelor's degree - diploma, certificate, diploma supplement - according to the instructions of the faculty. The faculty will send an invitation to the applicants one month before the admission examination. Applicants who will not have been issued documents of completion of higher education in the relevant study programme on the date of the entrance examination shall submit a certificate of successful completion of bachelor studies in the relevant study programme.

Conditions for international students
The conditions of admission of foreigners, foreign students or students who have completed university studies abroad are the same as the conditions of admission of students who have completed university studies in the Slovak Republic and are citizens of the Slovak Republic.

Form of entrance exam
Admission of applicants for the II. degree of university studies (Mgr.) in the full-time form takes place in the form of a written test of knowledge in the range I. Nursing (nursing theory, nursing needs and nursing process, basics of research in nursing, applied nursing) and at the same time non-specific assessment: (certificate of AJ, participation in the School of Nursing, other).
Methodology of evaluation of the admission procedure. For each non-specific activity, the applicant will receive 2 points: SVOČ, certificate in a foreign language, other activity.
