Graduate Profile
The graduate profile for the first level of the Fire Protection and Safety study program consists of:
1. knowledge—in the areas of combustion and fire suppression, fire protection and emergency services, fire safety of buildings and technological processes, on techniques and technical equipment used in emergency response, in the field of occupational safety and health, in the field of crisis management and civil protection, and in the field of administrative law;
2. Skills—applying the principles of fire protection in practice, identifying problems in fire suppression, in the assessment of the fire-technical and safety characteristics of materials, in risk assessment, and in the design of measures in the areas of fire prevention, occupational safety and health, and civil protection;
3. Competencies—making decisions at lower management levels within emergency response units and state and public administration bodies; providing advisory services to employers in the areas of fire protection, occupational safety and health, and civil protection; preparing documentation in the areas of fire protection, occupational safety and health, and civil protection.

Career Opportunities for Graduates
Graduates of the first cycle of the Fire Protection and Safety program are prepared to work in entry-level management positions at the Fire and Rescue Service (HaZZ) or other emergency response units of the Integrated Rescue System (manager, emergency services supervisor) within the state administration, public administration, and local government. They are prepared to work in the field of fire protection and safety as a fire protection technician, safety technician, and professionally qualified person in the area of civil protection at various levels of state administration, in public administration, and at legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. In accordance with the main learning outcomes of the first-cycle degree program, graduates have the potential to work as experts in the field of fire protection and safety within the Integrated Rescue System (particularly in the Fire and Rescue Service), at various levels of state administration, in public administration, and at legal entities and individual entrepreneurs involved in fire protection, emergency services, and occupational safety and health. Graduates are prepared to continue their studies at the master’s level in a program within this field of study.

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
Admission to the Fire Protection and Safety program in the field of study Emergency Services is conducted without entrance exams, but solely on the basis of an evaluation of high school academic performance, without the applicants’ participation. Applicants receive 10 additional points for service in the Volunteer Fire Department (DHZ), and members of the Fire and Rescue Service (HaZZ) receive 20 additional points.

- Applications must be submitted EXCLUSIVELY online at https://is.tuzvo.sk/prihlaska/
- Required attachments: - All information needed to submit the application can be found after creating an e-application in the university system (UIS), - Attachments must be uploaded electronically.
- Applicants who are taking their high school graduation exams in the school year in which they are applying for admission the grade point average and a transcript of grades from the end-of-year report cards for grades 1–3 of high school must be confirmed by the administration of the applicant’s high school on the e-application form,
- All applicants are required to upload scanned copies of their high school graduation certificate and their 4th-year report card to the university’s system immediately upon receiving them—or to bring OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED COPIES on the day of enrollment,
- Applicants who graduated from high school last year or earlier must attach a scan of their high school graduation certificate and all high school transcripts (vocational schools, post-secondary studies) and must list in the application the grade point average for each year as shown on the end-of-year report cards for grades 1–4 (or grade 5 as well), 3
- A separate application for higher education must be submitted for each degree program and form of study,
- International students apply for and are admitted to study under the same conditions as applicants from the Slovak Republic,
- Applicants are admitted to the program based on an evaluation of their high school academic performance (except for applicants to the Furniture and Interior Design program),
- Information about registered applications will be published on the Technical University’s website, in the UIS system under “Admissions Test Results” after entering the applicant’s birth number: http://is.tuzvo.sk/prijimacky/verejne_vysledky.pl,
- the faculty will send an invitation to applicants for the Art program,
- The number of admitted students is determined separately for each study program,
- The results of the entrance exams and admissions selection processes will be published on the website after they have been evaluated at: http://is.tuzvo.sk/prijimacky/verejne_vysledky.pl or on the faculty’s website https://df.tuzvo.sk/sk/vysledky-prijimacieho-konania.
