Graduates of the Liberal Arts program, with a major in Political Science, are well prepared to continue to master’s-level study in political science and related fields, including international relations, political theory and philosophy, public policy, political economy, international law, history, and more. 9 out of 10 BISLA’s graduates continue to graduate studies, 75% of them abroad.The programme also opens pathways into professions in public administration, government agencies, policy and research, media, non-governmental organisations, civic associations and other roles that require strong analytical and communication skills.Students receive a broad education in the social sciences, grounded in political science and enriched by philosophy and international relations. Through close reading, discussion, academic writing and independent research, they develop the ability to think critically, build evidence-based arguments and understand political and social issues in context. The basic admission requirement for admission to the first-cycle study programme Liberal Arts in the field of study Political Sciences at BISLA is the completion of full secondary education or full secondary vocational education, in accordance with Section 68(a) of Act No. 300/2025 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions and on Amendments and Supplements to Certain Acts (Higher Education Act).
The applicant is required to demonstrate fulfilment of this requirement by submitting a document certifying the completion of the required level of education, in particular a certified copy of the secondary school leaving certificate, within the deadline specified by BISLA. If an applicant has not yet demonstrated fulfilment of this requirement at the time of verification of the admission conditions, the applicant may be admitted conditionally, subject to the obligation to demonstrate fulfilment of this requirement no later than on the date specified for enrolment in accordance with Section 70(1) of Act No. 300/2025 Coll.
As part of the admission procedure, the applicant must submit an application for admission through the information system for central electronic applications and provide all documents required by the higher education institution in accordance with Section 70(2) of Act No. 300/2025 Coll.
The application must contain all required information, and the applicant is required to submit all required documents within the specified deadline. If the applicant fails to submit the required documents or fails to fulfil the admission requirements within the specified deadline, BISLA shall proceed in accordance with Act No. 300/2025 Coll. and the internal regulations of BISLA.

As part of the admission procedure for theLiberal Arts study programme in the field of study Political Sciences, the following aspects are taken into consideration:

An interviewconducted by an admissions committee consisting of three members of the BISLA academic community.
The oral interview serves to introduce the applicant to the admissions committee and to assess the applicant’s motivation to study at BISLA, as well as their general knowledge of the social sciences and humanities at a level corresponding to secondary school education, particularly in the area of civics.
The interview is conducted in person. If an applicant is unable to attend the interview in person, they may, by prior arrangement with BISLA, schedule an online interview via Zoom.
- English language proficiency, particularly the applicant’s level of comprehension and ability to use English in conversation at a level appropriate to the requirements of study at BISLA.
- Academic performance, including the applicant’s academic results during secondary school and the results of their secondary school leaving examination.
