Nursing care
The candidate has general knowledge at the level of synthesis in a field of study that integrates knowledge of nursing science, biomedical sciences, social sciences and human sciences. The student identifies from the relevant disciplines the basic conceptual apparatus used to describe the organs and systems of healthy and diseased human beings in terms of anatomical, physiological, pathophysiological and clinical aspects, dealing with their psychological processes and characteristics, the influences of their social and cultural environment, as well as their spirituality, beliefs and worldview. It can evaluate the findings and the connections between them in the context of nursing care. Can explain the legal and ethical standards required to practise nursing. Can identify and practically solve professional problems in nursing practice based on analytical, critical and conceptual thinking. The candidate is characterised by independence in solving specific problems in assessing patient needs, planning, delivering and documenting nursing care. Demonstrates autonomy and responsibility in making decisions and implementing preventive, supportive, curative, and rehabilitative care to individuals, families, and groups. Can effectively, independently, and critically evaluate the need for nursing care in changing ambulatory and inpatient health care settings and in collaboration with other health care professionals.
Prospects of graduates
Definition of the graduate's areas of application in practice: The graduate of the study programme will be employed as a nurse - bachelor in nursing practice in outpatient and inpatient health care facilities, spa facilities, institutes, communities, centres and centres providing nursing care at the level of outpatient, inpatient and follow-up nursing care. The baccalaureate nurse is professionally qualified to apply himself/herself in the process of providing nursing care to an individual, family, group or community in health or illness. May be employed in private nursing practice in accordance with current legislation. It is capable of being applied in the field of health services ensuring dying and death with dignity. The bachelor's degree in nursing is subject to further training in accordance with the horizontal and vertical permeability of the educational system. The graduate obtains a full first-level university degree in nursing, obtains a diploma of completion of a 3-year bachelor's degree and thus professional competence to practise the profession of nurse, which will be indicated in the diploma. The academic title of Bachelor of Science in Nursing shall be conferred on him/her. (Bachelor).

The basic condition for admission to the study programme in the field of study Nursing is the acquisition of a complete secondary or complete secondary vocational education in accordance with Section 56 of Act No.131/2002 on Higher Education.
Admission of applicants for the first stage of higher education studies is based on the results of studies from secondary school on the basis of a selection procedure. The average of grades for the whole secondary school will be evaluated (in the case of graduates from eight-year grammar schools, it will be the average of grades for the other four years), and students will be admitted up to an average of 2.0. The maximum number of points that an applicant can obtain for the average is 100 points.
The admission to the Bc. studies is a matriculation diploma in Slovak language. Applicants who do not meet this condition will take a test in Slovak language to check their communication skills in Slovak language at B1 level.
The applicant must be medically fit.

The electronic application form must be accompanied by a hard copy application form with signature.
If an applicant fails to complete the required parts of the application within the stipulated time after being asked to complete the missing parts of the application, he/she shall be disqualified from admission. The admission fee will not be refunded.
Conditions for international students
An applicant who has completed his/her secondary education abroad shall submit nostrified educational documents.

3. Graduation in Slovak language. Candidates who do not meet this condition will take a test in Slovak language to check their communication skills in Slovak language at B1 level, or Czech language

The admission of applicants for the first degree of university study in full-time form is carried out by a selection procedure on the basis of the secondary school study results. The applicant must be medically fit.
Form of entrance exam
Admission of applicants for the first stage of higher education (Bachelor's degree) in full-time form is based on the selection procedure on the basis of study results from secondary school and at the same time non-specific assessment: knowledge of English language (certificate in English, participation in the SOT, other). The applicant is required to submit a certificate of medical fitness in terms of the criteria required for medical disciplines. Admission to the Bc. studies is a matriculation diploma in Slovak language. Applicants who do not meet this condition will take a test in Slovak language to check their communication skills in Slovak language at B1 level.
