portalvs01 EN - TEST anotacia: The graduate of the bachelor's degree programme in social work should be able to perform the following professional activities: identify, correct and solve social problems; mediate and coordinate the cooperation of all stakeholders in solving social problems; carry out activities in the field of prevention, emergence and recurrence of social problems; instigate effective changes in the field of social policy at the institutional, local, regional and national level. Social worker - a graduate of the bachelor's study knows the basics of the theory and practice of social work, has knowledge of the roles of state administration, local government bodies and non-state entities in the field of social policy. He/she is prepared for the performance of first contact social counselling, social prevention, social work of professional officers at the offices of labour, social affairs and family (assistance to clients in material and social need), in social service institutions, etc.

Motivational interview for study programmes except Special Education and Education of the Mentally Handicapped, Teacher of Music Education, Teacher of Musical Arts, Teacher of Art Education and Teacher of Physical Education:
the aim is to check the study motivation of the applicant, his/her interest in the chosen study programme, basic orientation in the field and personal prerequisites for successful completion of the study. The result of the motivational interview is part of the overall evaluation of the applicant in the admission procedure.
Dates of the motivational interview: 17.08.2026
A candidate will be assigned points for high school performance in the following manner: the candidate's grade point average in the high school graduation exam subjects will be calculated. The resulting value is multiplied by the coefficient of the secondary school from which the applicant has graduated:
coefficient 1 for grammar school,
coefficient 2 for vocational secondary school,
coefficient 3 for vocational secondary school with matriculation.
In the case of study programmes where passing the talent test (music education teacher, music art teacher, art education teacher, physical education teacher), passing the entrance interview (special education and education of the mentally handicapped) or the motivational interview (other study programmes) is a condition, the ranking of applicants will be established after adding the points for the talent test or the entrance interview or the motivational interview.
The resulting value determines the applicant's position in the ranking.
If a greater number of applicants meet the admission requirements for a given study programme, those applicants who have demonstrated the highest level of aptitude for the study according to the admission requirements will be admitted.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS:
If an applicant wishes to apply for more than one study programme, he/she must apply for each programme separately.
The application form must be accompanied by:
- a curriculum vitae;
- a certified copy of the matriculation certificate;
- an application form for the Combined Teacher Education programme: Biology, Geography, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics or Computer Science single subject, shall also provide a certified copy of the high school diploma of the last year of study,
- proof of payment of the fee to be pasted on the 3. page of the application form. Without proof of payment, the application will not be registered. The admission fee is non-refundable! If, after being asked to complete the missing parts of the application form, the applicant fails to complete the required parts of the application form within the specified time limit, his/her application will be considered invalid.
- The applicant for the study programme Physical Education Teacher shall also submit a medical certificate of medical fitness to take physical education without limitations;
- The applicant for the study programme Special Education and Education of the Mentally Disabled shall submit a certificate from a speech therapy examination of correct pronunciation and absence of any kind of impaired communication skills;

- applicants who require specific conditions for medical reasons are advised to contact the KU Counselling Centre (poradna@ku.sk) in order to obtain qualified information about the demands and conditions of the studies well in advance of applying for university studies;
Confirmation of application registration and information on the further process in the admission procedure will be sent to applicants by e-mail. In case of a small number of applicants interested in studying teaching in one of the subject combinations, the faculty will propose applicants to study in other combinations.

in the case of applicants who have obtained their secondary education abroad, a decision on the recognition of a foreign document of education from secondary school for academic purposes and the transfer of grades to the Slovak grading scale - equivalence (more information on the website of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic: https://www.minedu.sk in the section Recognition of documents)
If the foreign applicant1 has not passed the Slovak language examination as part of the final school leaving examination, he/she is obliged to prove his/her knowledge of the Slovak language at least at the A2 level by means of a certificate proving the level of knowledge of the Slovak language (hereinafter referred to as "certificate") or a certificate of completion of a Slovak language course (hereinafter referred to as "certificate"). The certificate or confirmation of the foreign student's language level in the Slovak language should be issued by a Slovak language school which is registered in the network of schools and educational establishments of the Slovak Republic or by a university in the Slovak Republic which organises or carries out language or vocational training for studies at the university.

Maturity certificate, certificate or confirmation shall be submitted by the applicant to the PF KU by the date of delivery of the decision on admission to the study, or as part of the application for study to the PF KU. If the applicant does not submit the matriculation certificate, certificate or confirmation by this date, he/she will undergo an admission procedure in the Slovak language and must achieve a minimum language proficiency level of A2 in the Slovak language in this examination. Applicants from abroad - Graduates of a university study programme in the Slovak language do not need to submit certificates on the level of proficiency in the Slovak language.

-acquisition of full secondary education or full secondary vocational education (in accordance with §56, par. 1 of the Higher Education Act);
-respect for the Catholic spirit of the university and the faculty;

-for the teacher education, art education, music education, musical arts and physical education programs, successful completion of a talent test is required (see section Talent Tests);
-for the study programme Special Education and Education of the Mentally Disabled it is necessary to successfully pass the admission interview (see section admission interviews);
