Intelligent Information Systems
Intelligent Information Systems graduates will gain advanced knowledge of computer science and decision support tools using data and modelling tools such as machine learning, computer simulation or optimisation. They are able to apply modern information technologies at different levels of management in software companies, industrial enterprises, banking, transport, energy, healthcare, education, ecology and many other fields. They are able to work as application software developers, systems analysts and programmers, and are ready to work independently in business or to study third-level higher education programmes.

The basic condition for admission to engineering studies (second-degree study programme) is the acquisition of a first-degree university degree (Act on Higher Education No.131/2002 Coll., as amended) in the same or a related field of study.
Conditions for international students
Foreign applicants for study are admitted on the basis of relevant interstate agreements or, if they study in a language other than the state (Slovak) language, they pay tuition fees according to the conditions set out in Section 92(8) of the Higher Education Act. Tuition fees are set by a UNIZA directive and published for the relevant academic year on the University's website. Foreign applicants (except applicants from the Czech Republic) who wish to study in the state language are required to successfully pass a language test in Slovak language with the achievement of at least B1 level.The language test in Slovak language must be passed no later than by the deadline of the admission procedure - 28.5.2026, while a foreign applicant may pass it only once in the calendar year of the admission procedure. Successful completion of the language test is a condition for admission to the study. Applicants from the Czech Republic may use the form valid in the Czech Republic to apply for studies.

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
Those applicants who have successfully completed the prescribed courses (or their equivalent according to the information sheet) during their undergraduate studies may apply in writing to the Dean of the Faculty for a waiver of the entrance examination. The written request is part of the application form and is available on the FRI UNIZA website.

After the application deadline, the faculty sends the applicant an invitation to the entrance examination, which, in addition to information about the course of the entrance examination, also includes the number of the room in which the examination will be taken. After registration, the applicant shall take a test in the subjects prescribed for the given engineering study programme within a specified time limit. The results are published on the same day of the entrance examination on the website http://vzdelavanie.uniza.sk/prijimacky/. Applicants can access their results by entering their surname and identification code. A written decision on the result will be sent to the applicant by the Dean of the Faculty by 31 July 2026.
Students who are unsuccessful in the entrance examination may be admitted to the three-year engineering conversion program. Applicants are admitted to conversion three-year engineering degree programmes without an entrance examination on the basis of the weighted average of their undergraduate studies.
