Philosophy
The graduate of the study programme Philosophy has knowledge corresponding to the basic issues of philosophy covering the different areas of philosophical thinking, especially in the field of basic philosophical disciplines such as the history of philosophy, logic, theory of knowledge, ontology and others. The study is based on the latest developments in philosophy and science and is enriched by the interpretation of original philosophical texts, professional seminars and the preparation of term papers in the profile philosophical subjects.

The breadth and depth of knowledge entitles the graduate to continue their studies in the field, or to pursue a second degree in related fields if their curricula allow it, or to pursue professions in the relevant fields.

The Faculty of Arts of the University of Trnava in Trnava (hereinafter referred to as TU) plans to admit approximately 400 students to bachelor's studies in the academic year 2026/27, depending on the amount of the allocated budget and the fulfillment of the basic and other admission requirements.
The appropriate type of application form must be used for admission.
The basic condition for admission to the Bachelor's degree (Bachelor's degree) is the acquisition of a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education.
The Faculty of Philosophy of the TU reserves the right to make any changes and updates in order to improve the quality of the admission procedure, in accordance with Section 57 (5) of Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on higher education as amended by later regulations.
Applicants should submit a completed application form to the address of the faculty's seat: Faculty of Arts, University of Trnava, Hornopotočná 23, 918 43 Trnava.
The application form includes:
- confirmation of payment of the admission fee
- in case of applying for Bachelor's degree programmes, certified copies of the end-of-year report cards and the school leaving certificate (for applicants graduating in the school year 2025/2026, the results of the end-of-year report cards will be confirmed by the secondary school for 1. - 3. year for four-year studies, for 1st - 4th year for five-year studies, for quint, sexta and septima for graduates of 8-year grammar schools, the certified copy of the school leaving certificate will be sent to the applicants by 10 June 2026)
The admission procedure for a candidate for admission begins on the date of receipt of his/her written application. For this reason, an applicant who submits his/her application electronically must also submit it in written form, signed and duly documented (proof of payment of the admission fee, ...). The electronic application form must be confirmed by an attached printed application form with a signature.
If the applicant does not complete the required parts of the application form within the deadline after being asked to complete the missing parts of the application form, he/she will be excluded from the admission procedure. The admission fee will not be refunded. The final verification of fulfillment of the admission requirements will be done at the admission committee meeting in the month of June and July 2026 with the support of the modular academic information system.

Candidates who will be admitted on the basis of competitive examination will send the attested copies of their certificates within two days after successful completion of the examination.
The faculty does not require confirmation of the applicant's medical condition. If it is necessary to take a disability into account in the admissions examination process, the applicant must enclose with his/her application a certificate of disability and the recommended form of examination.
Applicants may also submit multiple applications to the College. For each study programme it is necessary to submit a new application and pay the fee of 40,- € again.
Applicants who have completed a lower degree abroad shall submit nostrified documents of education in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 422/2015 Coll. A receipt for the payment of the admission fee (in the amount of € 40.-) must be pasted on the 3rd page of the application form. In case of non-attendance at the entrance examination, the fee is not refundable. The Admissions Committee decides on the points required for admission.
Additional information
FF TU offers its students accommodation, the services of the university library, departmental libraries, a range of specialised classrooms and departments such as video presentation classrooms, multimedia classrooms, a multifunctional auditorium, a PhD students' office, a Communication Centre, a central IT system, a Modular Academic Information System, a University Pastoral Centre, psychological counselling services, a university canteen, and a number of other support services.
Conditions for international students
Applicants who have completed a lower level of studies abroad shall submit proof of equivalence of studies at secondary schools abroad pursuant to Act No.422/2015 Coll. on the recognition of documents on education and on the recognition of professional qualifications and on the amendment and supplementation of certain acts.

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
Applicants will be admitted to the above study programme without an entrance examination. Admission will be based on the results of secondary school studies. Admission is subject to completion of secondary education and the submission of officially certified end-of-year certificates for Years 1, 2 and 3 and an officially certified matriculation certificate. Preference is given to grammar school graduates (+50 points), taking into account the profile subjects: Slovak language, foreign languages, history, social studies. In case of equal points, preference will be given to applicants with a better average in profile subjects.
