Business Economics and Management

Graduates of the study programme Business Economics and Management in the field of study economics and management, are oriented primarily to the position of a business economist and manager capable of solving economic problems at all levels of management. Graduates also may apply for jobs such as managers in small and medium-sized enterprises, or middle level managers in larger companies, even professional workers in administration. Graduates will acquire all the prerequisites to be able to critically analyse the macroeconomic, microeconomic and internal environment of the company with an emphasis on their economic, managerial problems and processes. They will learn to synthesize knowledge about economics, economy, management, accounting and economic analysis. They can be able to identify and solve basic social problems and propose practical solutions based on economic and managerial principles. They have an adequate level of economic, managerial, financial, and good information literacy and can be able to communicate in a foreign language. They will acquire basic knowledge of microeconomics, macroeconomics, management, accounting, taxes, as well as knowledge of other economic disciplines, e.g. finance and business economics. They have practice-oriented applicable knowledge in mathematics, statistics, operational analysis and financial-economic analysis. They have practical skills in analytical techniques and statistical methods applied to current economic problems. They can effectively communicate and present the results of analyses and proposed solutions, work in teams, but also solve problems independently, take responsibility for the results of their work as well as for the results of the team. The selected subjects of the study plan allow them to develop their creativity and teamwork.

Prospects of graduates
The profile of a graduate is focused on attributes that require economic, managerial, but also general knowledge and abilities, analytical skills, independent conceptual economic and managerial thinking necessary for work in selected professional positions in private and public sector. Conditions of admission
Information on the conditions for admission to the first-level of study is published on the website https://euba.sk/en/applicant.

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
The following applicant is exempt from the obligation to take the entrance examination:
a) applicant for study at PHF EU in Košice who in academic years 2022/2023 – 2025/2026 attended the national level of a specialist or economics-related competition held nationwide for secondary school students on or before April 30, 2026, for study programmes conducted in the Slovak language, and on or before February 28, 2026, for study programmes conducted in the English language: Economic Olympiad, Young Accountant Olympiad, Mathematical Olympiad, or Language Olympiads;
b) applicant for study at PHF EU in Košice who in academic years 2022/2023 – 2025/2026 attended the national level of the all-Slovak competition Business Manager Olympiad, for secondary school students held by PHF EU in Košice on or before April 30, 2026, for study programmes conducted in the Slovak language, and on or before February 28, 2026, for study programmes conducted in the English language;
c) applicant for study programmes conducted in the Slovak language at PHF EU in Košice who takes the General Academic Prerequisites test (or the Czech version thereof) and also a foreign language test, which tests can be taken as part of the
National Comparative Exams provided by SCIO in the academic year 2025/2026. The applicant with a percentile score of 60 and higher from each test will be accepted for study;
d) applicant for the study programme Business Economics and Management in English (BEM) and study programme Commercial Entrepreneurship in English (CE) who takes the General Academic Prerequisites test in English and also the English language test, which tests can be taken as part of the National Comparative Exams provided by SCIO in the academic year 2025/2026. The applicant with a percentile score of 60 and higher from each test will be accepted for study.

National Comparative Exams tests can be taken during the academic year 2025/2026 in various cities in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine. The tests can also be taken more than once; the best test result attained will be considered for the applicant. The applicant must take the test no later than May 1, 2026, and for study programmes in the English language, no later than March 15, 2026.

An applicant who meets the exemption condition for taking the entrance examination according to the point a or b (exemption due to participation in nationwide levels of selected olympiads), is required to submit a request to the Dean of the faculty and documentation proving participation in these nationwide rounds of olympiads. The request and relevant documentation must be sent by email to the Study Department of PHF EU in Košice no later than April 30, 2026, for study programmes in Slovak, and by March 15, 2026, for study programmes in English.

Notice:
The EU in Bratislava accepts the electronic application, which will be created in the Academic Information System (AiS2) of the EU in Bratislava. The electronic application with user manual on how to fill it up in the AiS2 information system is published on the website: https://euba.sk/en/applicant.
The fee for the admission procedure can be paid exclusively by bank transfer (not by postal order). A transfer order for payment in a bank is not accepted as a proof of payment of the fee for the admission procedure. A statement from a bank account or confirmation of payment or confirmation of completed payment from internet banking can be accepted.
