Conditions of admission

Admission of applicants to the Mgr. art. degree program Furniture and Interior Design will take place in the form of a selection process requiring the applicant’s participation. The level and nature of the applicant’s prior studies will be assessed by the evaluation committee based on the submitted or received materials as follows:

a) evaluation of the applicant’s bachelor’s GPA and state examination scores (max. 60 points),

b) evaluation of the applicant’s portfolio and an interview with the applicant (max. 40 points),

Total: max. 100 points

The committee will evaluate the applicant’s individual abilities and aptitude to independently and creatively meet the requirements of further study, as well as their knowledge of and familiarity with design issues, with an emphasis on furniture design.

The admissions committee for the master’s program (consisting of at least 4 members) is appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Design (DF) upon the recommendation of the Head of the Department of Furniture and Interior Design (KDNI).

Applicants for the Furniture and Interior Design program must submit their portfolio by mail or deliver it in person.

An applicant successfully passes the admissions selection process provided they earn at least 50 points.

General information on the admission exam

• Applications must be submitted EXCLUSIVELY electronically at https://is.tuzvo.sk/prihlaska/

The basic requirement for admission to an engineering or master’s program is completion of at least the first level of higher education.

All documents must be uploaded in electronic form to the e-application in the university system (UIS); there is no need to send them by mail.

You will find all information regarding required documents after creating your online application. Please have the following ready:

- a scan of your first-cycle university diploma,

- a scan of your state examination certificate,

- a scan of the diploma supplement (a transcript of the results of the exams taken during the bachelor’s program, including the weighted grade point average for the bachelor’s degree),

- Applicants for the Furniture and Interior Design program must submit their portfolio by mail or deliver it in person.

• The electronic application for admission must be submitted during the application period,
• A separate application for university study must be submitted for each study program,
• International students apply for and are admitted to study under the same conditions as applicants from the Slovak Republic,
• Admission to the fields of study Woodworking, Economics and Management, and Security Sciences, Arts is the successful completion of the selective admissions process
• Information on registered applications will be published on the Technical University’s website, in the UIS system under “Admissions Test Results” after entering the applicant’s birth number:

• The number of admitted students is determined separately for each degree program,
• the ranking of students admitted to study programs is determined based on the results achieved in the admissions selection process,

• Applicants who complete the admissions process will be admitted to the program in order of their total score achieved in the admissions process until the planned number of students to be admitted for that study program is reached.
