History and Theory of Arts

The Faculty of Philosophy at Trnava University in Trnava (hereinafter referred to as TU) plans, depending on the amount of allocated budgetary funds and the fulfillment of basic and additional admission requirements, to admit 40 students to the master’s program in History and Theory of Art in the 2027/2028, 40 students into the master’s program in History and Theory of Art.

Applicants must use the appropriate application form.

A basic requirement for admission to the master’s program (Mgr. degree) is completion of a bachelor’s degree.

The Faculty of Arts at TU reserves the right to make any necessary changes and updates in order to improve the admissions process, in accordance with Section 69(6) of Act No. 300/2025 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions, as amended.

The admissions process for applicants begins on the day the electronic application, including all required attachments, is submitted.

Fee for the electronic application: 40 EUR (via the MAIS system).

The Faculty of Arts accepts applications for study exclusively in electronic form, together with the required attachments.

Applicants who completed their bachelor’s degree prior to the 2026/2027 academic year must upload a certified copy of their college diploma and a transcript of their grades along with their electronic application.

Applicants who will complete their bachelor’s degree in the 2026/2027 academic year must immediately upload a current certificate of enrollment to the online application and submit the remaining documents by June 21, 2027.

The faculty does not require a medical certificate from the applicant. If necessary, the Faculty may take a disability into account during the admissions exam process; the applicant must attach to the application a confirmation of disability and the recommended format for the exam.

If, after being asked to complete missing parts of the application, an applicant fails to add the required components to the electronic application within the specified deadline, they will be disqualified from the admissions process. The admissions fee will not be refunded. Final verification of compliance with the admission requirements will take place at a meeting of the admissions committee in June 2027, supported by the modular academic information system.

Applicants may submit multiple applications to the faculty. A new electronic application must be submitted for each degree program, and the €40 fee must be paid again.

Applicants who have completed a lower level of study abroad must submit recognized educational documents in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 422/2015 Z. z.

Proof of payment of the €40 admission fee must be uploaded to the electronic application. The fee is non-refundable if the applicant does not take the entrance exam. The admissions committee determines the minimum score required for admission.

Applicants who have completed a lower level of studies abroad shall submit proof of equivalence of studies at secondary schools abroad pursuant to Act No.422/2015 Coll. on the recognition of documents on education and on the recognition of professional qualifications and on the amendment and supplementation of certain acts.
