Cynology
Calary studies are conducted on the basis of the current requirement for professional education in that specific field. Teaching during the 3-year study is focused on professional activities related to service, social and hunting cynology in several professional spheres of society. The study covers all spheres of use of cynology, i.e. professional, interest, but also social. The level of education assumes application mainly in state and municipal inspection organizations of urban agglomerations, preparatory professional and interest organizations as an instructor for cynology, in the performance of epizootological and epidemiological activities in the protection of human and animal health, interest cynological organizations, in the protection of nature and animals, in the activities of private veterinary practice (oriented to dogs).
Prospects of graduates
The graduate of the study programme in cynology will acquire professional specialization for the performance of his profession and will prepare for highly qualified performance in state and municipal organizations of larger urban agglomerations with the character of inspection bodies, for the preparation and activity in organizations of cynologically professional and interest types. The content of the study programme defined by the determination of knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired by the graduate cannot be obtained in another study programme. Graduates of the study programme may pursue further studies in the Animal Welfare and Protection programme.

Admission to study at UVLF in Košice is conditional on the applicant's obtaining a full secondary education or a full secondary vocational education. The order of applicants is determined on the basis of the points awarded for the average of the final examination and points for active participation in secondary school Olympiads and SOČ in profile subjects (biology, chemistry) and for other activities that the student must provide written evidence of in the application form for studies.
Conditions for international students
The admission conditions are the same as for Slovak applicants.
Another condition for foreign applicants to study in Slovak language is knowledge of Slovak language at least at B1 level. Candidates must prove their knowledge of the language by a certificate confirming the level of the language, or complete a Slovak language course organised by a third party for the needs of UVLF in Košice before starting their studies.
Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
Admission to study at UVLF in Košice is conditional on the applicant's obtaining a full secondary education or a full secondary vocational education. The order of applicants is determined on the basis of the points awarded for the average of the final school leaving examination and points for active participation in secondary school Olympiads and SOČ in profile subjects (biology, chemistry), work in organisations professionally close to the chosen study programme, which the student must submit in writing with the application form for studies.
