Social Anthropology

Social anthropology encompasses knowledge about human society, communities, and culture in their various manifestations, their functioning, evolution, and interactions, acquired through long-term ethnographic field research.

The aim of third-level education is for students to acquire essential and detailed knowledge in the field of social anthropology at the highest scientific level, to know and understand anthropological theories, ethnographic field methods, and qualitative and quantitative data analysis procedures, with possible application in practice, but especially in science and research.

Prospects of graduates
Graduates of the third level of study in the Social Anthropology program will be top experts in the field of social and cultural process research with an emphasis on developing their specialization as a scientific discipline. The basic goal of the PhD program is to form a new generation of professionally prepared and creative researchers in the field of interdisciplinary reflection on the relationships between sociocultural and psychological phenomena. An essential part of the study is the doctoral student's individual contribution to the development of the theoretical foundations of the discipline, as well as long-term field research in a selected community for a period of at least 6 months of continuous residence.
