Prospects of graduates

Bachelor study graduates have knowledge from the area of law theory, know the mechanisms of state agencies with special regards to application of legislative, executive and judicial power in the state and find their application within the framework of individual organisational units in public administration, state administration, local government, in public institutions, etc. They are eligible to issue individual administrative acts within the framework of the decision-making activity of public administration according to the administrative order.

Conditions for international students

As a foreign student - self-payer a foreign citizen may apply, who is not a citizen of an EU country and does not have his/her permanent address in any of the EU member countries. The teaching language is Slovak.

Tuition:  EUR 3,000  for an academic year

Payment term  - together with the application

Payment method  - the applicants shall pay the fee by a money order type U. Name of recipient: Faculty of Law CU, Šafárikovo nám. č. 6, 818 05 Bratislava, to the Accont number 7000135302/8180 State Treasury, variable symbol: 104 001 0003. In the message for the recipient please indicate "ADMISSION FEE". Pasted the original copy of the mail receipt on fee payment on page 3 of the application form.

In case of non-participation in the entrance exam the fee will not be returned.


An incomplete application will not be registered!



Requirements of admission of foreign applicants - self-payers:

- knowledge of Slovak language

- oral entrance exam - the topics for the entrance exam are sent to the applicants together with the invitation to the entrance exam

- secondary school educated completed with a school leaving examination

Required attachments of the study application:

- school leaving certificate translated into Slovak language (certified translation) or another equivalent document,

- confirmation on education documents equivalence (if the applicant is from a country that no agreement on document equivalency is concluded with),

- birth certificate - certified copy or another identification document

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam

Evaluation at the admissions is performed according to the three year-end school reports from the last three years of secondary school, the school leaving certificate, six profiling subjects and achieved placements (as an individual participant or within a competition collective) in secondary school competitions during the entire secondary school study. Secondary school Olympiads, secondary school scholar activities are taken into regards.

The maximum number of points for each school report with the average of 1.00 is 120 points. For a school leaving certificate with an average of 1.00 the maximum number of points is 60. For the average of 1.00 from six profiling subjects in each of the three year-end school reports a maximum of 25 points may be gained, i.e. in total 75 points. The averages from year-end school reports are calculated from the subjects indicated in the school reports as mandatory and optional subjects. The averages from profiling subjects are calculated from the subjects indicated in the school reports as mandatory subjects.

In the total of points from three year-end school reports, the school leaving certificate and profile subjects a maximum of 495 points may be reached. The points for successful placement in the above mentioned competitions are added to these points.

General information on the admission exam

The application form for study at the CU in Bratislava, Faculty of Law is submited separately for full-time and separately for part-time form of study. The teaching language in the study programme in Slovak.

The faculty does not confirm reception of the application.

Attachments to the application:

1. Certified copy of school leaving certificate and school reports for the last three years of the secondary school (i.e. school report for year 2, 3 and 4, in case of a 5-year study school reports for year 3, 4, and 5 of the study, in case of an 8-year grammar school for year 6, 7 and 8) - if the applicant had the school leaving examination earlier than in the academic year 2009/2010.

2. Certified copy of school report for year 2 and 3 of the study (eventually year 3 and 4.....or 6 and 7 in case of an 8-year grammar school)“ - if the applicant has the school leaving examination in the academic year 2009/2010,

3. applicants that have the school leaving examination in the academic year 2009/2010 shall deliver the certified copy of school report for year 4 (in case of a 5-year study for year 5, in case of an 8-year grammar school for year 8) and a certified copy of the school leaving certificate by 14 June, 2010 the latest,

4. certified photocopy of the diploma (diplomas) or other documents on participation and placement in secondary school competitions,

5. Students from EU member countries and Slovak students of foreign secondary schools shall submit

Decision on education document equivalence recognition, or Confirmation on equivalency of the education document issued by a foreign school the decision/confirmation is issued by the competent Regional School Authority, www.ksuba.sk, or the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic, www.min.edu.sk ), these conditions do not refer to the citizens of the Czech Republic.

7. a slip confirming payment of the admission fee,

8. no other school reports, diplomas or certificates must be sent together with the application,

9. a confirmation of a doctor on capability of the applicant for study is not required.



After successful completion of the Bachelor study programme (first level university education) it is possible to apply for a Master study programme (second level university education).
