Prospects of graduates

A graduate of the study field acquires the basic qualification for the performance of the profession of a nurse. The student will work as a nurse in nursing practice in inpatient units of health care institutions, in primary health care, in home nursing care agencies and participate in nursing care management and nursing education.

Conditions of admission

The basic condition of admission to the three-year bachelor study programme in the external form of study (completed by obtaining the degree "Bc.") is the acquisition of a complete secondary education with a high school diploma in the field of study nurse, general nurse, children's nurse, health assistant, practical nurse.
The condition of admission is a confirmation from the employer that the applicant is working in the position of a nurse, practical nurse, health assistant. Another condition of admission to ensure that applicants with the necessary skills are admitted to the study is a selection procedure.



Conditions for international students

The conditions of admission of foreigners, foreign students or students who have completed their secondary studies abroad are the same as the conditions of admission of students who have completed their secondary studies in the Slovak Republic and are citizens of the Slovak Republic, but the following point must be taken into account. Conditions of admission without the entrance exam

The selection procedure consists of:

  1. An assessment of the merits achieved during secondary education. The overall average from secondary school from 3.6 to 1.0 is expressed
    in linear terms of: average 1.0.... 100 points to 3.6 ... 0 points. Average from profiling subjects - biology, physics, chemistry. For each profiling subject the grades are scored: 1=9 points, 2=6 points, 3=3 points , 4=0 points.
  2. For each non-specific activity the candidate will receive 2 points:

a) SIC

b) Certificate in a foreign language

c) Other activity-sport

d) Other activity-cultural

3. Age 18 years

4. Medical fitness as certified by a doctor

5. Hepatitis "B" vaccination confirmed by a doctor - form here

6. The results of the entrance examination will be published on the faculty's website

7. Candidates who demonstrate the highest level of aptitude for studies, i.e. achieve the highest score, will be admitted to the course

8. Applicants who have completed their secondary education abroad

1.1. if there is a recognition clause for the country of the degree at https://uznavanie.minedu.sk/category/uznavacia-dolozka it should be printed out (it is no longer validated or verified) and together with the clause, it should be submitted:

a) a notarized copy of the educational document from abroad, bound with an official translation into SJ

b) a notarised copy of the supplement to the diploma from abroad (transcript of courses taken), bound with an official translation into SJ

c) a notarised certificate of academic results for the last 4 years, bound with an official SJ translation

1.2. in the event that https://uznavanie.minedu.sk/category/uznavacia-dolozka does not have a degree recognition clause for the country in question, the following must be provided:

(a) a degree recognition decision - issued by the Regional Office of School Administration (ROSA)

b) a notarised copy of the supplement to the diploma from abroad (transcript of courses taken) bound with an official translation into SJ

(c) a notarised certificate of academic results for the last 4 years, bound with an official SJ translation

9. Those applicants who have not passed the matriculation examination in Slovak or Czech must also pass a test in Slovak language - level B1, prepared by the faculty, as part of the admission procedure. Only applicants who achieve at least 60% success in the Slovak language test may be included in the selection procedure under point 1.
