Média, dizajn a marketing
The graduate of the Bachelor's degree programme is prepared for employment in media, marketing, management and design practice. He/she possesses theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of media, communication and design, which enable him/her to work independently and adapt flexibly to the needs of the labour market.
Prospects of graduates
The graduate is able to identify and competently solve theoretical and practical problems in the media, marketing and management spheres. He/she will master a body of theoretical knowledge and practical abilities and skills that will enable him/her to fully exercise his/her chosen profession even without continuing in the second degree (Master's degree).
The graduate of the study programme will have adequate knowledge of the theory and development of the media, media policy, the system, typology and structure of the media in the Slovak Republic and in the European and broader international context, methods of media and marketing production and journalism of all types, work with the public, psychology, sociology and ethics of media and marketing communication, of print (press), photographic, agency, auditory (radio), audiovisual (television) and multimedia production, of speaking in front of a microphone and camera, which gives him/her the prerequisites for independent creative activity.
The graduate will also be able to apply himself in the media, marketing or management field by communicating in one of the world languages. He/she will be able to independently perform professional activities and managerial functions at lower management levels.
The graduate of the Bachelor's degree study programme is also an expert - a media designer who can use the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical experience for his/her professional practice. He/she can apply the basic knowledge of technical and technological procedures of design creation in his/her creative work: from concept development through design to its realization. The competences acquired during the study enable the student to independently or in a team to design simpler technical and productive character in the media, or to deal with the redesign of media products and services. The interdisciplinary focus of the courses enables students to competently process media information, knowledge and knowledge in a design manner. The acquired knowledge and the way of its acquisition also enable graduates to respond flexibly to the current needs of the labour market in the field of media design.

The admission procedure is without an entrance exam. The applicant must fulfil all the conditions of the admission procedure.
The basic condition for admission to the bachelor's programme is the acquisition of a complete secondary or complete secondary vocational education completed with the baccalaureate.

Application and basic application requirements
Bachelor's degree applicants will submit their application form exclusively electronically. The Faculty of Mass Media does not accept hard copy applications, which means that the applicant does not print the e-application form from the system either! The e-application will be considered complete only if all sections are filled in correctly. The admission fee must also be paid.
The application form is submitted separately for full-time and part-time studies, the fee is paid separately for each form of study.
After completing the e-application form, the following attachments must be sent by post:
Applicants who are matriculating in this academic year:
- Hand-signed curriculum vitae.
- Proof of payment of application processing fee.
A candidate who will take the matriculation exam in this school year will send or submit in person an officially certified photocopy of the matriculation certificate (by a notary public or a registrar) immediately after the matriculation to the study department of the Faculty of Mass Media of the PEVŠ.
Applicants who graduated last year and earlier:
- Certified photocopy of the graduation certificate (by a notary or registrar) - original certificates will not be accepted.
- Hand-signed CV.
- Proof of payment of the application processing fee.
- The composition of the subjects in the matriculation examination and the level of matriculation in each subject is not decisive for the entrance examination.
- A doctor's certificate is not required.
- After registering the e-application, an account number and a variable symbol will be generated for the applicant, which is used to pay the application processing fee of € 33,-.
Conditions for international students
Foreign applicants and applicants who have completed their secondary education or part of it abroad are obliged under Act No.596/2003 Coll. on state administration in education and school self-government and on amendment and supplementation of certain regulations, as amended, to apply to the competent regional education authority for recognition (nostrification) of the document of education of a graduate of secondary school abroad, or for the issuance of a certificate of equivalence of the document of education (in the case of states with which the Slovak Republic has concluded an agreement on mutual recognition of documents of education).
Study applicants from abroad may be admitted to study in a programme organised in the Slovak language on condition that they pass an entrance examination in the Slovak language. This condition does not apply to citizens of the Czech Republic and foreigners who have passed the matriculation examination in the Slovak language in the Slovak Republic or have graduated from bachelor's or master's degree programmes in the Slovak language.
Study applicants from abroad may apply to study in a programme organised in English under specified organisational and financial conditions. In the case of a study programme organised in a foreign language, the admission procedure will be carried out in English according to the decision of the Dean.
When enrolling for full-time studies, a foreigner is obliged to submit a document of residence permit in the territory of the Slovak Republic and to prove whether he/she meets other conditions according to the legislation regulating the residence of foreigners in the territory of the Slovak Republic (Act No. 404/2011 Coll. on the Residence of Foreigners and on Amendments and Additions to Certain Acts). This condition does not apply to students coming from EU Member States.

If the correct variable symbol is not used, the payment is not paired and the study department cannot proceed with the application. The fee will not be refunded once the application has been registered or if the applicant cancels the application.
The candidate will be informed about the status of his/her e-application through the e-mail communication generated by the UIS information system, namely:
- The registration of the e-application by the information system.
- Confirmation of receipt of payment - after payment of the admission fee.
- Acceptance of the complete e-application by the faculty (this message must be received by the applicant no later than 14 days after the last date for submission of applications).

Admission to the study is decided by the Dean of the Faculty in accordance with the conditions set for admission. On the basis of the applicant's request for a review of the decision on non-admission, the Dean may admit the applicant or withdraw the application to the Rector. The Rector shall confirm the decision of the Dean, reverse the decision if it was made in violation of the law, an internal regulation of the college, or refer the application to the Board of Trustees in disputed cases.
The notification of the admission decision or the notification of the conditional admission decision (after completion of the basic conditions of admission) and the payment of the specified tuition fee shall entitle the applicant to enrol in the study. The applicant is obliged to acquaint himself with the financial conditions of study at the faculty and to pay the tuition fee within the time limit set by the PEVŠ.
A candidate admitted to study becomes a student of the university on the date of enrolment in a study programme conducted by the faculty.
