Výukové podklady budú dostupné v textovej a multimediálnej podobe, vrátane online prístupu.

Sekundárnym prínosom bude zvýšenie atraktivity študijného programu a prispenie k riešeniu dlhodobej krízy nedostatku kvalifikovaných pracovníkov v odbore energetika.

In the context of the current pace of technological development, increasing demands are placed on graduates of technical universities for both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. With the rapid development of hardware and software, numerical simulation is becoming a key working tool of the engineer, thus fundamentally changing the methodology of work - the focus is shifting from the design of the primary geometry towards parameter tuning or the application of optimization methods. In addition, simulations in the field of power machinery are characterised by the extra demands on the understanding of complex physical processes such as flow, turbulence, heat transfer and phase changes.

In order for undergraduate teaching to respond effectively to these changing workflows and the specific demands of the field, it is essential to integrate numerical simulation more deeply into graduate training - not only within specialised simulation courses, but also within the core design disciplines. In doing so, it is essential to incorporate more advanced procedures into the curriculum to enable students to solve complex problems that combine complex physical processes with complicated geometry.

The present project therefore addresses this need by upgrading the teaching materials and improving the technical facilities required for the implementation of the proposed changes in teaching. The teaching materials will be available in text and multimedia formats, including online access. The improvement of the technical facilities will consist in the modernisation of the computing equipment used for teaching.

The primary benefit of the project is expected to be a significant improvement in the readiness of graduates to join the workforce at home and abroad. The secondary benefit will be to increase the attractiveness of the study programme and to contribute to solving the long-standing crisis of shortage of skilled workers in the field of energy engineering.
