Téma predkladané projektu vychádza z kľúčového problému dejín estetikého myslenia a dejín a teórie umenia. Ide o koncepciu „večného návratu“, či večného opakovania, ktorá má svoje teoretické korene v antickej filozofii, neskôr v myslení Friedricha Nietzscheho. Súčasná teória umenia tento teoretický koncept reflektovala až v posledných desaťročiach, pričom bola inšpirovaná významným historikom umenia Aby Warburgom. Ten upozornil na skutočnosť, že idey/formy antického umenia prežívajú v umení renesancie. Cieľom projektu je posunúť warburgovské myslenie smerom k modernému a postmodernému vizuálnemu umeniu s dôrazom na slovenský kontext a upriamiť pozornosť na tie diela, ktoré vedú vizuálny dialóg s dielami iných historických období. Tie potom nielenže v umení prežívajú, ale vstupujú do vzájomných dialogických previazaní. Vo výskumnej oblasti budú prepojené metodologické prístupy estetiky, teórie a dejín umenia a v praktickej aplikácii teoretických výskumov pôjde o ich priame zakomponovanie do vyučovacieho procesu. 

Project annotation in English language

The theme of the present project is based on a key problem in the history of aesthetic thought and the history and theory of art. It is the concept of "eternal return" or eternal repetition, which has its theoretical roots in ancient philoosophy, and later in the thought of Friedrich Nietzsche. Contemporary art theory has reflected this theoretical concept only in the last decade, inspired by the eminent art historian Aby Warburg. The latter drew attention to the fact that the ideas/forms of ancient art persist in the art of the Renaissance. The aim of the project is to shift Warburg's thinking towards modern and postmodern visual art, with an emphasis on the Slovak context, and to draw attention to those works that engage in a visual dialogue with works from other historical periods. These then not only survive in art, but enter into dialogical interrelationships with each other. In the research area, the methodological approaches of aesthetics, theory and art history will be linked, and the practical application of theoretical research will involve their direct involvement in the teaching process.
