Slovaks abroad: current situation, trends and prospects for research into expatriate issues

The aim of the conference is to network academic, research, and memory institutions that deal with issues of history, culture, language, and identity of Slovaks living abroad. In this way, we want to initiate the creation of a communication platform for the exchange of knowledge and discuss the possibilities of coordinating partial research. The conclusions of the conference will be used by the Commission for Science and Research as an advisory body to the President of the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad, whose task will be to ensure further steps in improving opportunities for research on expatriate issues in Europe and overseas.

• trends, present and perspectives of research on the issue from the aspect of humanities and social sciences
